Yes O. We need direct payment in Nigeria even in other sectors. A security man will be paid #20K while his real salary is #50K. Pls extend this philosophy to other sectors, pls pass a law, so as to reduce slave labour in Nigeria 4 Likes |

Which is better? Improving on their economy for all to benefit or paying a selected few for majority to suffer? 1 Like |

Amnesty is one of the biggest scam of the last administration where funds were misappropriated. Does this rubish reduce oil theft in the ND? Does this reduce the poverty level of the people of ND? Is the ND completely free from restiveness now? Lots and lots of questions! There are better approaches to the socio-economic needs of ND and not by a selected few lucky ones. ...."If you take a lizard to America it will never grow into a monitor Lizard"- Ben Murray Bruce (2015). 1 Like |

FrancisDiote:There is a law mandating government to pay the. The law also has an expiry date Which was December. The amount paid is now being phased out but the truth is those who were 13 years old when the deal was signed are now ripe and sharper than those still collecting the money who have grown fat and lazy so paying the old ones does not take care of the problem . For starters anyway the oil revenue is 30% what it was when the deal was signed and a large part of the problem lies with the state governors like Ibori e.g. Oil will finish one day ,in fact Nigeria has about 35 years reserves in the ground. Thaat region wil be desolate afterwards if there is no forward planning 1 Like |

i swear, dat's why i love me some nollywood flicks, they cover almost all the drama and f-ery in 9ja. “Henceforth, payment of the monthly stipend would be made directly to each beneficiary with focus to eliminate cases of fraud and short-changing by their leaders."

I weep for Nigeria. Imagine 'ex militant' getting a whooping 65k each and here I am a proud Nigerian graduate looking for less than that to start a business since the 'white collar' jobs are really scarce... I must leave this country before it's too late... 1 Like |

The FG surely knows how to play its cards right. I just hope this payment won't stop after the elections in Rivers State. Another strategy to get a firm grip in Rivers state. When is the re-election date again? |

In a country full of innocent hardworking unemployed college graduates lookin for work and money, militants are being paid monthly stipends, militancy is rewarded. TUFIAKWA!!!!! Instead of getting the ex militants, training them in varius skills, grant them acess to loans and engage them into the economy. Or even making them a highly trained and disciplined paramilitary force for good. Now millions of unemployed youths will want to be militants, if it is so rewarding. 2 Likes |

Many people nagging here do not know the significance of this direct payment. Under the previous regime the payment of stipends was simply an avenue for siphoning funds. Kingsley kuku and his fellow thugs made hundreds of millions on the heads of these ex-millitants and nothing got to them The result is that many were forced to go back to the creeks out of despair. And kuku never cared...now there is no way to stealing the funds anymore 4 Likes |
