I met him for the first time yesterday when he came to see her sister.

His sister is my friend and we stay in the same hostel.

He should be in year one.

But he's too handsome and posses the qualities I like. He also likes me, but as a sister's friend.

I'm I getting it wrong?

The fact that he's younger isn't the problem.Have you talked with him in a *friendly* way,if not how do you know he's even interested.No sense working youself up over the dude or how he's your friend's little brother when you don't know if he likes you.Do you talk to him or just admire him from afar?

I just saw you said you just met him. You really need to talk to him an not get too caught up in his looks and all,you need to know what he's like and if you even want anything from him after you find out.
