I can see sycophants now feel that dictatorship is now synonymous to integrity. I pity this present generation and worse of all the next to come.

Leave the mugus & sycophants to their foolishness.

After 13 years in exile, the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Shehu Aliyu Usman Shagari granted an official pardon to Odumegwu-Ojukwu and opened the road for a triumphant return in 1982. The people of Nnewi gave him the now very famous chieftaincy title of Ikemba (Strength of the Nation, while the entire Igbo nation took to calling him Dikedioramma ("beloved hero of the masses"wink during his living arrangement in his family home in Nnewi, Anambra. His foray into politics was disappointing to many, who wanted him to stay above the fray. The ruling party, NPN, rigged him out of the senate seat, which was purportedly lost to a relatively little known state commissioner in then Governor Jim Nwobodo's cabinet called Dr. Edwin Onwudiwe. The second Republic was truncated on 31 December 1983 by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, supported by General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and Brigadier Sani Abacha. The junta proceeded to arrest and to keep Ojukwu in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Lagos, alongside most prominent politicians of that era. Having never been charged with any crimes, he was unconditionally released from detention on 1 October 1984, alongside 249 other politicians of that era—former Ministers Adamu Ciroma and Maitama Sule were also on that batch of released politicians. In ordering his release, the Head of State, General Buhari said inter alia: "While we will not hesitate to send those found with cases to answer before the special military tribunal, no person will be kept in detention a-day longer than necessary if investigations have not so far incriminated him." (WEST AFRICA, 8 October 1984) - source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._Odumegwu_Ojukwu

so the truth did indeed set him free as he was not the only one arrested or was he charged for any offence wen he was deemed to av not committed any. if u dont av skeletons in ur cupboard, u dont av to be scared of buhari. haters beware

MyGeneration:

Ojukwu was granted amnesty back then by Shehu Shagari, he came back to Nigeria and embraced the pardon given him with open arms, only for Buhari to enter into power, he went he puta Shehu shagari who was a northerner on house arrest and sent his vice Alex Ekwueme an Igbo man to kirikiri, then he went for Ojukwu, just as Nnamdi kanu, virtually there was no clear charge against him since he was not part of the govt he was just detained in prison until the next military coup dat ousted Buhari.

i have done my research and can say yes he was arrested cus he was a politician during the era and almost all politicians were arrested by buhari on his coming to power. even northerners were not spared, all were arrested from east to west to north so it was not an anti igbo thing as u want us to believe.

secondly u want us to bliv he left him in jail until he was ousted by ibb but my google search says it was the same buhari that released him later unconditionallly as no skeleton was found in his cupboard after investigation. so a lil dose of google.com can help us all. thanks
