wao I was at holy ghost cathedral Enugu and decided to visit the home there and this thought occurred to me me and I decided to ask

I have visited SOS home on a countless number and from what I was told by one of their matron, they actually train them on some skill acquisition amd those who are fortunate to go to university are sponsored and allow to integrate into the large society.

That was then, these days they get adopted immediately they're born.


You can only find disabled ones in motherless babies home.

Lol.. .That is the real problem in Nigeria. When you surround yourself in poverty for so long, you'll start to think it is the same for everyone. I understand. God will assist you. Anyway, I already have three boys which is why we are thinking of adopting a girl. Plus, if it does happen, she will not be growing up in Nigeria. God forbid.

There was one time another NL was doing what you are doing now. I had to take some pictures then post it here and the Nairalander was thouroghly embarrassed. Then again i was insulted by other Nairalanders for showing off. Lol.....You can't satisfy everyone. I will pray for you. I believe 2016 will be your year. Say amen.

What of the apprentice thing igbos are fond of? An orphanage is the best place to find an apprentice, one who'd see you as his uncle when done because he had no family to begin with. I'm guessing an apprentice of this sort would care for you even better than an offspring because knowing their potential outcome without your investment they'd stay eternally grateful to you.

I watched a documentary on orphans in Korea. Their wish when most of them hit age 8 was to get adopted because they believed it offered a better life. Coincidentally adoption really provided a better life because when the adopted ones came visiting their old friends who they grew together, most of the ones who never got chosen grew and picked the option of working for orphanage thereby not achieving much in life while others adopted got jobs of one sort or the other.
One thing I noticed was all of them saw each other as siblings and the ones with employment connections always tried their best to consider their orphanage 'siblings' for roles they could fit in before anyone else.
