It is possible because anytime he resits a carry over, he score more marks than he would have scored in the first attempt due to more experience.
He wrote the carry overs when he is in higher level and might have advance in his level of understanding. In that case he score very high marks in the resits. So it is very possible.

It's very obvious a lot of lazy folks here did not read the story.

This is what I kept telling students who are currently carrying very bad result in higher institutions. Rather than finishing with a poor result, cut your losses and start again with jamb as in the case of Hillary.
But what you hear these days is that your grades do not matter once you have connections in the society.
My argument is that your chances would be brighter with better grade.

Why are so many people commenting without reading? The interesting topic is even enough to make you curious enough, Don't you all want to know how he did it? He got 17 carryovers in physics department, Wrote JAMB and apply for Psychology in the same university. In essence he started afresh after getting the 17 carryovers when he was already in 300lv of the physics department. Learn to Read! This is why i always tell the new intakes having a CGPA of below 1.0 or a very low CGPA to start afresh instead of crawling with that CGPA. You can imagine some people in 500Level/Final year having 0.7 CGPA, What do you want to do with it? If only you started afresh much earlier.

There is a difference between switching (Changing) course of study at the university and Reapplying for a different course...
In switching or changing course, a student retains his/her matriculation number and most times, cgpa reads from the level he/she switch to.

But in reapplying, the student is seen as entirely new candidate with a new matriculation number..in other words a fresher..which is what happened in the case under review.

summarily, the student did not switched course of study, rather he reapplied for a different course as a fresh student.

wat is dis one sayingwho told u I didn't read it....were u awarded first class in your school?.if at all u even went to school....he did physics and got 17 carryovers and decided to take jamb to study anoder course...he never gave up or commited suicide like some of u guys would av done....he never tried to see if he will sort out his results...instead he took up his cross,dusted it and keep walking and nw his hardwork and determination worked for him...and u don't expect me to praise him......
