It appears to me that Prof. Sagay is prepared to dance ashilogu in the market square. For a reputable lawyer like Sagay to make unfounded imputations against the Igbo ethnic group is worrisome to say the least.

Perhaps, old age might be having it toll on the prof but may I remind him that the recent agitation for a Biafran state and their demands doesn't reflect the voice of the hoi polloi of Ndi Igbo.

To allege that the recent agitation of Biafra by some misguided youths is as a result of Igbos losing out on Buhari's kitchen cabinet is akin to saying the entire Igbo people are haters of Buhari and didn't vote for him. This we know is false.

Prof. Sagay may be trying to warm his way into the presidents heart but it shouldn't be at the detriment of a people. He should be mindful of what he says lest he loses the respect and regard by learned Nigerians.

Nnamdi Kanu and his clandestine radio outfit has been in operation long before Buhari became president and the recent Biafra protest is mainly to seek for his release. There could still have been protest if he was incarcerated by GEJ.

I'm not holding brief for the injudicious protesters but they represent only a little fraction of Igbos and shouldn't be a criterion or touchstone to imply that Ndi Igbo as a people are antagonistic towards Buhari coz they lost out in crucial portfolio in his government.

Constitutional lawyer and Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Anti- Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) has raised alarm over what he called the insults and death threats he has received from Igbo people for expressing his opinion on the renewed agitation for Biafra republic during President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
