**grins** What do they mean by the statement "at discretion of president and comptroller-general"? So the importation of some goods are dependent on the comptroller-general's mood? If he is happy, your goods are cleared, if he is angry, the same goods won't be cleared until may be you grease his palms or buy him some gworo. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy The zoo!!!!!!!! lmao! **grins**

Brandy and Gins banned too? Most countries import these stuff, even the US.
If drinks like Hennessey, Moet, Jack Daniels etc can't be imported anymore, are people supposed to go to clubs and order palm wine, ogogoro etc? Do these law makers think?

Seconded! After watching those a.ss.es in high definition then you hunt a local prey down only to be diasppointed at the package. The industry needs to grow and be adapted to our scenery. Afterall Corsy Orjiakor's bobby will challenge Maserratti's own in a fair bout. But come enh brother, which Naija as.s would you compare with Diamond Monroe's?

I guess you are still a kid and dont know the harsh realities of the business world. Ever wondered why compies like PZ moved shop to Ghana? Hear yourself and the way you are going on about manufacturing, let me ask you. Which electricity are they going to use to manufacture it? After all the overhead costs and multiple taxation by the govt. How do you expect them to compete in the market price wars? Some of you people just go about yapping about the ideal situation, but reality beckons when you venture into business in Nigeria. It is a tough terrain, but you wouldnt know that maybe because you are still in school or someplace waiting for your next salary. Mtcheeewww!
their is no such thing as kids...the spirit of man always stays the same, more or less information that the soul put in storage like a harddisk in a computer...jesus christ was extremly wise as a kid,remember?...he had already informations and data in his harddisk stored by god.....

sooo... be careful, even a kid can be wiser than you........

You can set up a factory for a lot of the stuffs on that list with less than N20 million.
With millions of unemployed women who can be taught tailoring in a few weeks, I do not know why Nigerians import second clothes.
We've turned ourselves into a dumping ground for other people's garbage.
You only need a few people with money to put their money where their mouth is.

don't mind the mumu, aba business men will be happy about the information, an avenue for them to set up a manufacturing company to produce the banned goods... some of them will never see anything good in this administration.

Where is the electricity to take run the factory.Buying fuel to power the generators makes the cost of the finished goods to be high and unaffordable to the masses that hardly can eat 1 course meal per day with 18.000ngn salary which is now less than 50£ or 70$.
So if the govt won't give the pple constant and uninterrupted electricity, there's no way we won't be buying cheap Chinese products.

Some of these things should have been absolutely prohibited long time ago. It's a new development anyway.

You seem like a pitiable fvcktard, really! Igbos have been making clothes and shoes in Aba for ages, how many have you bought in your short miserable lifetime? Igbos have been making ammunition in Awka since the time of your ancestors, how has your Nigerian govt. helped to build that industry? Igbos have been manufacturing motorcycles in Nnewi since the 80's how many did your father buy? Igbos have been manufacturing fanbelts and brake pads for vehicles since the 80's, what did the govt do to boost the industry? The same Igbos were producing cement (Ibeto) what did your govt do? Obj instead decided to stiffle his business and let Dangote enjoy a monopoly as usual. You want to boost local production of rice...yet the new customs DG's first order in office was to 'lift' the ban on rice importation and let a few individuals import rice. Who are these individuals? Your guess is as good as mine.
Igbo hatred will get you nowhere mister man. Now it is their fault that you have access to things you never dreamt of ? The android phone or laptop you are using to type this rubbish was most likely imported by an Igbo man. Deal with it. Miserable louse.
according to ur post I think dis a chance for nigeria to patronize it's local made goods so according to you this a healthy decision
