abnot: Unfortunately if that money is not through bank transfer then its impossible to provide any evidence to back that up and the embassy will have some reservations about your claim that your mum and daddy giving you 300-400K monthly as an allowance even as you work. |

justwise: @justwise they actually do. Looked up my bank statement from august till date . The monies were paid monthly in my account via bank transfer except in november and december when a cash deposit was made by my parents. I've been to the UK 11 times in the last 5 years and also been to the schengen zone 4 times in the last one year . In addition I studied in the UK on two different tier 4 visas the last of which expired in january 2015. The challenge am having now is that my parents sponsored all these trips as I submitted their bank statements and all. However am going to have to sponsor myself this time around using my bank statement that's why am making as much enquiries as possible to avoid wasting the visa application fee. Many thanks justwise |

Can I appeal it? Or should I appeal it? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 11:44am On Jan 08, 2016 |
Benjamite01: You can't because you are not given the right to. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 11:47am On Jan 08, 2016 |
abnot: Then you don't have much to worry about, organize your application carefully. |

Please whats a realistic budget for a 3 week stay in the u.k minus accommodation? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 11:38pm On Jan 08, 2016 |
kay1one2: I could spend £2,000 while Dangote will spend more than £300,000 for the three weeks stay. Budget depends on how wealthy you are. Good luck |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Portsmouth86(f): 1:32am On Jan 09, 2016 |
lilreese: I would suggest you contact the bank/card issuer first and foremost to see if the payment you made was successful, then contact the company you made payment to whether the payment has failed or not and make arrangements to complete the transaction if necessary. I would also advise not following any links from within the email, just in case it is a fraud email, I'm not saying it is but you never know |

How long does it normally take between when payment is made and an available submission date ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Nobody: 4:48pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
FrontPageLawyer:Thanks, I have read on uk.gov that if a person's standard visitors visa is stamped MULT, means multiple entry and 1 mean single entry and for both regardless of the period of stay stated on the application, one is only considered to have overstayed if he doesn't exit the U.K within 28 days after the stated date of expiration of the visa on one's passport (i.e there is even 28 days grace after the expiration of the 6 months visa before one is considered to have overstayed). One is only obliged to notify the UKBA if the condition for which the visa was granted changes within this period e.g if one needs to change from a visitors/tourist visa to a spousal, students or work visa. Guess this means that even if one stated that he'll be staying for 2 weeks, it doesnt matter if he stays for the entire 6 months as long as he exits before the grace period elapses. And such a person has not broken any rules and hence no penalties for this. |

EggPlant: Since you've read from the UK Government website (straight from horse's mouth) Do what you think is right. Best wishes. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 5:22pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
EggPlant: That is not true, visiting visa can not be changed to any other type of visa within the UK. If you stayed longer than you stated in your application you will find it difficult to extend that visa without a very strong reason. If you doubt anything I said above then try and overstay the stated time in your application and see what happens next time you visit or try to renew that visa. Staying 2-4 days more is not the issue here but weeks or months will get you into trouble even when you haven't overstayed the 6 months given. 2 Likes |

Dear justwise, I recently renewed my visa 2yrs around Oct . When filling the forms I stated I'll be travelling in Feb 2016 for 2 weeks. Now plans have changed. Lost my dad and his burial is Feb. I now intend going March to spend Easter with my family brothers and sisters based in the UK. And I intend to spend 3 weeks. I hope it's safe to do so or I just stick to my 2weeks? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 5:34pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
justwise: I don't think the poster will listen even at gun point. I can only wish him luck. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 5:43pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
Aibisoye0: You can do that and explain the situation to immigration officer at POE if asked, if you can stick to 2weeks you stated in your form. |

Good Morning Sirs/Mas, Please i wanna make an anquiry for a friend Need to apply for visa to write an exam (has a valid US visa n just returned in Dec afta a 2-week visit) Has just about 200k. Has paid exam fee Questions: 1. Can he apply with only that in his account or should he use a sponsor? 2. If he should use the sponsor, what documents will he require from the sponsor? The person he can probably use as sponsor has about 2.2M in his account. No property but works in a good organization. |
