TonyeBarcanista:Which different case is he in detention for? How long are they supposed to hold him for before they can charge him to court for that different case? They need to stop violating the fundamental human rights of Nigerians. |

EbukaFran:I'm laughing at your lecturer because you don't know what security entails. You can use security vote to buy soap if you want to use it to empower youth in order not to venture into some vices which will in the long run cause a break down of law and order. Security is about prevention and execution. |

I have come to understand how easy it is for Nigerians to confuse issues and propagandize when they claim to know more than those who are involved directly in national issues. In fact those who accuse the government of media trials are the very ones carrying out media exoneration and acquittal of the accused without the benefit of evidence beyond mere speculations. It smacks of insult to the intelligence and intellectual capacity of the former National Security Adviser for anyone to suggest that the controversial $2.1 billion was Security Vote and not an extra budgetary allocation for Arms Purchase. Is the analyst suggesting that the former NSA Sambo Dasuki is so daft that he could not differentiate between Security Votes (which clearly is beyond investigation) and Arms fund which is clearly accountable? Unfortunately, those who should critically study and analyse write ups just join the bandwagon of endorsement without critical thinking. While every one is entitled to his opinion, such entitlement should be to the furtherance of truth and public morality. This article is a failed attempt to whitewash the criminal expenditure in question and blackmail the government of PMB as diversionary, vindictive, clueless and incompetent. But we the masses know better. No amount of hate write ups and campaign of calumny will discredit this administration in its onerous war against corruption. Any attack against this war against corruption is evidently Corruption fighting back. Those who benefitted from the ravenous and rapacious squandering of our riches owe their benefactors moral burden of defence. In the same vein the patriotic masses who suffered abysmally and indescribably from the bazaar have a duty to support the exposure and trial of those who betrayed the trust reposed in them through unconscionable wastage and national profligacy. No rationalization of corruption is acceptable. |

Its only fulls especially the guilable ones i see here that can believe this political lies. it was Dasuki that insisted the election be shifted to finalize the looting proper and complete the sharing proper. ayosogunro1:. My brother God bless you. In the bid to defend their principals online(not in court where case are argued with facts and evidences) they will sink to abysmal depths. Just watch them as they fool around the different news sites with their concocted fables. They are at Punch website as we speak posting under the name "Ogbuefiakajiaku" |

ayosogunro1:All this long grammar would not have been necessary if Dasuki and others are properly charged in an open court. From what we know, no mention of ARMS "EXTRA-BUDGETARY" sentence in any of the charges preferred against Dasuki at this moment. Dasuki has pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges preferred against him. What is right is for the government to bring all these "documents" to the OPEN court and allow Dasuki to defend himself. What is wrong is PUSHING "documents" into the media for Dasuki to be tried EXTRA-JUDICIALLY. NOTE: He was once arrested for having CHACHE OF ARMS in his houses only to be charged for possession of AN UNLICENSED PISTOL in the court. And they attempted to cover up with a SECRET TRIAL at the time. |

mikeywise:Are they court documents? They are still MEDIA documents. Why not bring the documents to the court? Everyone saw Buhari laid "documents" on the table of the National Assembly last year. Only for the "documents" to be "stolen" in the new year. Is it too hard for Buhari and his government to be TRANSPARENT? |

ayosogunro1:I am afraid you are trying to waste our time. Instead of launching out in a long-winded attempt to proffer banalities as explanation, you should have done the needful. May I state for the umpteenth time that sane societies are governed by rules of engagement. The crux of the matter confronting us here is Buhari's refusal to obey the most basic of the putative rule. Buhari swore to an oath to defend and uphold the constitution of the land. May I remind you that the rule of law and separation of powers form the grundnums/building blocks of constitutional democracy. Was Buhari elected to office to suspend the constitution and subjugate/usurp the judiciary? What are you talking about? Should our national institutions revolve around Buhari or should we sustain strong institutions that would outlast subjective considerations? Why would you desire that Nigerians should promote cult personalities and messianic complexes giving our chequered history? I am upset... |

The ignorant OP doesn't even know how they come up with security vote budget item. It's usually around 10% of a department/state or federal government's budget. It's almost impossible for the looted $2.1B to be from the security vote |

A bit of digression, I just noticed it's been a long while we heard from brother Femi Fani-Kayode. Is he working on another open letter to the President? Why keep such a low profile now that the heat is been turned on his party members? ANY ANSWERS |

udemzyudex:Please do get my message right. My position is not about defending or exonerating Dasuki. It is about 1. Everyone, in the eyes of the law, is innocent until proven guilty. That is a fundamental tenet of democracy and justice. I cannot stand here in good conscience and tell you Dasuki is not corrupt but if he is, it is for the court to prove that, not EFCC, DSS or Buhari. 2. I have not said anywhere in my write up or any of my follow up posts that he didnt give anyone money. My point is simple. They have come out to tell us Dasuki collected $2.2B meant for procurement of arms and misappropriated it and shared it to his cronies. First, there isnt such a $2.2B money approved for arms purchase. It is false. So the whole issue is on a false foundation from the start. He did receive monies for his office as NSA. Whether he disbursed such allocations to his office rightly or wrongly is a different discussion altogether and is a far cry from the Dasuki gate scandal that has gone on for months. And in the end, the courts should be allowed to do their job and give a verdict. The monies from the ONSA were definitely disbursed for various projects and assignments so people surely collected money from that office. But that does not suggest in any way that they committed crimes. In fact, we now have a blanket assumption that any money that was disbursed from that office was a fraud. This is so wrong and this kind of narrative is cheap propaganda. |
