The Ministry of Health is presently on the case & this is mentioned in the post but there are procedures to be adhered to which are -

Logistics & admin.

Investigation of the crisis.

Preventative measures.

Clinical trials.

Vaccination programme & treatment.

Educating the people on public health.

And we all know that all these will take time & will not automatically result in immediate eradication of the crisis.

But Jona also had his own lassa fever case n he handled it well and according to wat I read in the piece, the casualties isn't as much as now. So if Jona had a road map but didn't follow it up yet dealt with the fever, then I don't see any reason why Mr Health Minister should come out and start blaming the past administration. He should just get to work time no dy again.

What is the roadmap supposed to do? Stop Lassa Fever or Cure lassa Fever? Was there no drug in 2012 that cured those infected to the tune of over 1000 with less casualty that can be deployed for this current outbreak of about 100 cases but higher casualties. or cant the doctors that worked on the 2012 outbreak be consulted for a mass production of the drugs or further research.

In that same, logic, we can keep blaming previous administrations for every challenge that confronts us.

8 months into office is more than enough time to initiate or follow through with a roadmap.
