This is no propaganda. You should know this current war on corruption Buhari is prosecuting tightens more noose on his own party. He is setting a benchmark that they will be judged with when they leave. Or you think APC will be in Aso Rock forever?
I do not think Buhari or any of his party members will want to face this same humiliation PDP members are going through at the moment. They will surely be subjected to it but the only thing that will save them is if they keep their records clean now.

You all do not really know the effect of the precedence being set today or partisan considerations are just making you blind to it. There was no difference between personal bank accounts and government accounts in recent past.

I don't see why so many people can't see that this provides a golden opportunity to push for real campaign financing reform in Nigerian politics, instead of just using this article to indulge in bashing each other in a partisan fashion.

The fundamental problem with Nigerian politics is that unlike in civilized countries, Nigerian political parties do not actually depend on their membership for funding, and therefore have no need to worry about adhering to any political platforms, or even providing any platforms at all. Who cares what a bunch of poor people think when a single big chief can fund an entire national campaign?

If we want our politicians to answer to us, rather than seeing our votes as just a means to an office where they can "chop", we need to make sure that they have to come to each and every one of us for the funds to run their campaigns. That means outlawing all political funding that doesn't come directly from registered members' donations, and setting a very low limit on those (e.g. no more than 50,000 per member in a year). Do this and watch the influence of godfathers wither away, and politicians suddenly developing a deep interest in their voters welfare.

A former Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman, Chief Audu Ogbe, will on January 4 inaugurate the sale of five million tubers of yam donated by farmers to raise N5bn for All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The Public Relations Officer of the APC Micro Finance Cooperative Society Ltd, Mrs Felicia Yakzum, said in a statement on Thursday in Jos that the sales would commence at Mararaban Demshin in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.

She said an APC-organised New Year wrestling tournament and the ‘Job Opportunities for Osinbajo and Buhari Supporters’ would also be inaugurated.

Yakzum said Ogbe was behind the yam initiative and had been appointed chairman for the sales.

The spokesperson said JOOBS on the other hand, would create opportunities for the unemployed youths nationwide to be engaged meaningfully to enhance their lives.

Yakzum said, “We have constituted a committee charged with the responsibility of creating job opportunities for youth supporters of the Muhammadu Buhari/ Prof Yemi Osinbajo ticket.”

She said those targeted were secondary school leavers, retrenched workers, pensioners, physically challenged persons, and the internally displaced with valid voter card.

it is good to criticize politicians and their activities for better Nigeria, it is also good to acknowledge if a few people are taking some right steps.
since no political party can survive without funding, it becomes imperative that leaders of a party fashion out how this can be realized, without any illegal acts...part of such consultations, I guess, was the visit Oyegun and co. to a member of their party, who happens to be the President. we need not be told that the APC is aware they're being watched, especially with the situation at hand now.
Members will contribute Nationwide, both in term of Membership commitments and voluntary donations. Political Office holders, including Buhari himself, APC Governors and their legislators will contribute individually too. Also, friends and sympathisers of the APC Government at all level will give them money.
All they need to do is coordinate fund raising events.
