The Bible is indisputably the inspired word of God. Looking for the supposed mistakes or errors will simply make us to overlook and miss the central points and truths therein. The Bible is not just a book but a collection of books written by different authors. The events recorded spanned through decades. The writers may not have written in order for the books to serve as religious materials. Some simply wrote to record events. Others wrote to share and admonish from vast personal experiences. In Gods unsearchable wisdom, the books later got compiled to become the Bible. Perspectives of writers do differ. Accounts of events may differ depending on the sources of information and disposition of the writer. Some writers may even lean on already written works. We see this in some portions of the Bible. Some writers do further research into books that are already in existence in order to shed more light on subjects or themes.
The supposed errors or contradictions actually heightens the authenticity of the Bible rather than diminish it. The Bible comes to you as an unedited work. It is not just a product of human literary skill but an inspired work.
If you study the Bible in order to find the errors. You will see errors based on your interpretation and misjudgement. This will be of no spiritual benefit to you. If you read the Bible with the purpose of finding the truth and applying to your life situations, you will be blessed and turn out better. The Bible truly says the letter kills but the Spirit gives life.
While I will not support or promote spiritual gullibility, I will enjoin individuals to search for the Truth with open mind. The central theme of the Bible remains the salvation to mankind offered through Jesus Christ. It is for you to either accept or reject. This is a personal choice. You can only be advised and admonished. Nobody should be forced or coaxed. You have to find God and experience Him by yourself. Surely, your destiny is in your own hands. I rest my pen.

Am a Christian, and I am not here to criticize anyone's opinion...but to talk to those who are springing up issues out of this post, we are all hear to learn, those who are lashing those who have pointed out sections with different accounts...are u defending God or ur religion or christianity...surely u can't do any, cos vengeance belongs to God, so ur should just be to read and give ur own view not calling names, u do urself a favor by just passing by, than taking the work of defense....

The stars are little lights in the sky that are capable of falling to Earth like meteorites.

“Immediately after the suffering of [66-70 C.E.] the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken [Matthew 24:29].” undecided

Flying insects walk on all fours. Can You Imagine

All winged insects that walk upon all fours are detestable to you [Lev. 11:20-23].” In fact, no insect walks on all fours. Insects have six legs, three on each side.

Ahaziah was two years older than his father, Jehoram

"[Jehoram] was thirty-two years old when he began to reign [Judah]; he reigned eight years in Jerusalem, [and then he died at the age of 40] to the regret of no one. . . . The inhabitants of Jerusalem made [Jehoram's] youngest son, Ahaziah, king as his successor. . . . Ahaziah was 42 years old when he began to reign". — 2 Chron. 21:20-22:2. If 2 Chronicles is as perfect and inerrant as God is, Jehoram was born around 882 BCE, and his son Ahaziah was born around 884 BCE, two years before his father was born.

I have read the bible from Genesis to Revelation, but in the course of all this while I have been reading the bible, I never come across any mistakes in the bible.

But sometimes, it seems like some chapters/verses are misleading if you want to follow the principles as it's written there-in.
Particularly, the book of Levinticcus, most of the Abrahamic Laws are controversial. They tend to be begging for answers to several questions, Atheists sees reasons to cling to them hence making points our of nothing so vital/substantial.

If the gospel writers were all inspired by Holly Spirit, then why are they reporting the same event in different ways. truth is, none of them was inspired by Holy Spirit, they were ordinary human writers making human mistakes in their writings, unfortunately some people later ascribed divine inspiration to those writings, inspite of all the inherent errors and discrepancies!

Yes please, provide more. We are all learning.

I have been a born again xtian for decades.I read the bible from cover to cover several times as a tenager.

I can confidently tell u that there are no errors whatsoever in the bible.Remember that the bible was not written in English.
Howrver, I do admit that there are a lot of tranlation errors in the english bible.
If you have ever read the introduction to bible translations the translators state that what they have presented is
the best they could based on their knowledge of the oruginal language.By so stating they were declaring that the translation cannot be said to be perfect.

The only reason why there are many translations of the English Bible is because efforts are constantly being made to get more accurate translation of the bible.

Perhaps the least accurate Engish translation of the bible is the King James Version.Ironically, it is the most widely read, most widely accepted and most widely bought version for many reasons are:
1.Its use of old english gives a sense of holiness and piety to readers and reciters.
2.It is perhaps the easiest to commit to memory.
3.It is has been around for so long and has the greatest following and consequent next-generation following
down the ages.

Shocking as it may seem, most modern translation if the Bible are more accurate than KJV.A few of the reason for this are as follows:
1.KJV was not translated from the original Greek and Hebrew version. It was translated from the Vulgate which was a latin version.
2.The oldest manuscripts of the bible were found by archeoligist in modern times.
3.Modern day translators of the bible to english have better understanding of the original languages in which the bible was written than their older generation counterparts.

4.Becuse of development in teaching and education modern day man has a (and he keeps developing) much more better approach to translation.

The bible is all of academic, scientific, history and spiritual book.

As an academic book it is studies by a great many scholars in a great many theogical schools and universuties.

As a scientific book it is being studied by various scientist who are mosty archeokigist.Scienrists and archeoligist have found its account quite revealing and accurate.

As an history book, historians continue pore over it.

As a spiritual book, BORN AGAIN christians read and study it.Please notice that I placec an emphasis on the word born again.

Because the bible is a spiritual book. It exist as a closed book.Only BORN AGAIN christians can understant it. Other categories of people like scholares, hisorisns, and scientist may be knowlegeable and pissible versed in it.They can never understand it unless they are born again.

Yes, you may be knowlegeble in it, yes you may be versed in it, but you will never understand it until you get born again.A typical example a person who was knowlegeble and versed in in but did not understand it was Nucodemus who was a pharisee.
Another example of someone of a person who was knowkegeable and versed in it bur did not understand it was Saul of Tarsus who was a lawyer. In fact, in Jesus's days, the pharisees, saduccees and scribes fell into.the said category.

Unbelievable as it may sound , Jesus's dusciples too fell into this category during his earthly days.

As would be expected, a great many people exist today who are knowlegrable in the bible, versed in it but do not understand it. They can be found both offline and online.

It is rather ironic thay these people who are knowlegeable, versed in but do not understand the bible are the ones who think they underand it them most. They are quite easy to identify because they are quick to argue about thr bible.

Having said all that a person who is not born again may get the rare oppirtunity to have a certain degree of understanding of the bible, but that occurs at the descretion if God.

A good case in point is the dedciple of Jesus. They all knew Jesus was the christ but the never really understood the import of that knowlege until one day when God revealled it meaning to peter.

In closing I will say that there are no errors in the bible but there are tranlation errors in English tranlations if the bible.

In closing I will say that there are no errors in the bible but there are translation errors in English translations of the bible.

if you think so, then explain to me

How can you be sure that the errors are in translation and not the true content.

And tell me.. According to the evidence so far, we can all agree that there are some "errors" in the bible.. mostly because there where two different contradictory accounts.. if they have where only one account, we never would have know and would have believed it even tho it might have been the wrong one..

my question now is how can we be sure that events that happened in the bible which happen to have only one person account are actually true..

PS. pls Don't start telling me stories of holy spirit will lead you and faith bla bla bla.. Give me a valid point.
