Request a Social Security number card as part of your Department of State immigrant visa application.

The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will share your information with us.

List your correct address and zip code. We will mail your card to the address you give.

Do you see address verification by three separate state departments there?

This is how people disgrace Nigerians. Someone brings a fake news and it will be rushed to the front page.

I know all the laws, cities, counties, states, in the United States of America.
Who ever moved this shiit to front page is calling me ignorant and a retard at the same time.

Unbelievable, how one question has led to many of you to reply with such rudeness and ignorance. I just wanted to know why would a Nigerian marriage license have an expiration date. What does that mean. But never mind. I will get my answers through an immigration lawyer. There is no reason for me to lie. Also, I can not and will not post his photo here. That will not answer my question anyway. I'm out!!!

Let me make it known to you.
You're now a wanted person.
Just turn yourself in to the police.

You gave me a false name.
You said your husband's name is Adeniyi Oyeleye Ajibade ??
We ran his name in our system for more than 20 times and we ended up contacting the person, the person wants to press charges on you.
The guy in question has been in Chicago Illinois and Kansas city Missouri for more than 15 years.

My advice to you is go underground, or we nab you.

People, my name is AJIBADE cos I married him. I took on his last name. But I am not Nigerian. I am an American. He left in 2013 and could care any less. That is why I didn't do anything about it. Now, I just felt I should ask about this expiration date.

seems this is what you are looking at, perhaps:

http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/03/world/americas/mexico-2-year-marriages/

incidentally(?), this also was being peddled around 2011, same date as when you said you married.

Did the wedding take place in Mexico?

just wondering, no offence.

The responses you have received so far are either what you were expecting or insulting.
But the bottom - line, it is apparent he only used you has a conduit to travel to America, under all sort of pretences and lies during your courtship period.
If you have no kids together, simply instigate a divorce process (should be a quick process).
Loads of people using marriage has an easy way to travel abroad, not considering the heartbreak and emotional pain, that is caused along the way!!!!

If you are correct then do not be swayed, stay the course until you et your satisfaction. There are many more Nigeria centric forums that you can ask questions on, this is just one of them.

Good luck.

While not impossible to confuse Nigeria with Mexico, I find it improbable.

well, what are the odds Mexico was proposing legislation to limit marriage to two years only in 2011, op says s/he got married in 2011, "husband left" in 2013, Cuba embargo lifted in 2015, op opens threads in 2016 to ask where is her husband.

Highly probable s/he is referring to Mexico imo.

this are the facts we cant pretend that some whites are not hostile to Africans, so I would advice that you first of all confirm if he is missing ,dead or killed, by filing a missing persons report because we all know if he was after papers he would have waited three more years to be a citizen rather than taking off with just a green card.so go and file a missing person report.as for the marriage certificate, I would think it is original because the American embassy would have checked it out before approving his papers and yes that document seems like one of the two document been issued but that is not the certificate ,the certificate is a wide paper with both of your details and details of your shorty's .please note both document are issued together

Hello everyone. I have a question and was hoping you could shed me some light in a matter. I am in America. I went to Nigeria in 2011 and married my husband. I petition for him in 2012 and he arrived to America in 2013. Three months later he left. He is here in America, just not with me. He just left once he received his social security number, his permanent visa and a job in two months of being here. I haven't heard from him nor seen him again. I been wondering for a long time if my marriage to him is valid. In the marriage license it says it expired in 2013. I don't understand that.

Was our marriage set up or arranged to be temporary? I don't really understand Nigerian law or customs concerning marriage. (I am not Nigerian) I know my husband was rushing me to get him here before that expiration date. I am very confused. I also went to the office of public records here in America and they couldn't find any marital records of me and my husband, nothing. On the back of my marriage license issued in Nigeria, there is a website of marriage records, I entered my name and his name and didn't find anything. It just says no records found. Am I married to him or was it all fake? Can you please help me find out? I'd appreciate it. Even if it was all a scam, I still have Nigeria in my heart and will never have anything against Nigeria and Nigerians. Just my husband. Thank you in advance.

You guys don't read these threads before responding.

She already said that he's on Facebook but not responding to her. So "whites" haven't lynched him.
