Really? ? How come that administration failed to implement it? I'll tell you why, coz it was never intended for implementation to begin with. NOI may not necessarily be corrupt in the strict sense of the word but she was weak and complicit in the financial crimes that were perpetrated under her watch. At best, just like her boss, she chose to look the other way while the looters had a field day. Who else if not her should be held accountable? She was the (sic) finance minister for pete's sake.
I like to know the reason why you included "(sic)" in the sentence above. If you were quoting erroneous words, I would have agreed with you.

This silly woman is insulting our intelligence with this dumb claim about not having nothing to do with the money when in fact the money came from her, she approved it with her boss.

Sadly for this worthless, corrupt and incompetent woman, we are dealing with this looting and sharing because you not only located the funds for Dasuki, you approved the money for Dasuki, you practically and illegally gave the money to Dasuki with zero oversight or concern.

This is the same woman who as our money keeper and finance minister didn't know billions was missing or stolen under her nose but latter admitted that $10 billion was missing? Imagine a whole damn finance minister did not know $ the $10 billion that was supposed to go inside our federal account never made it into that account?

They fire and prosecute people like this incompetent woman in sane and lawful societies

Ngozi Iweala is a shameless woman who needs to know that not all Nigerians are like her extremely dull praise singers who believe she is the best thing to have ever happen to Nigeria. I support Prof Soludo's claim that her knowledge of economics has become rusty after functioning in administrative and non-operational positions at the world bank in the last many years.

That she used her mothers saga for glory when millions of naira were paid to ransome her speaks volume of her level of humanity. The Govt she served as deputy C-in-C was so bad in securing people's lives, hence the reign of kidnappers. And while her mother was ransomed, did she and her banditry-like govt of the dullard GEJ cared about other people's loved ones who were kidnapped because of their failed security apparatus.

NOI was trumpetted into our lives with great promise, and many of us accepted and believe in her, but it didn't take long before some of us knew she was a 419-econonists. Braining people recognizes their braining peers in the society, and in fact Soludo remains a shining example in our recent national life. NOI may have been one in the past, but not any more. She knows it and the intelligent ones also knows it. Except for ANY possible past glory, she is presently just a "being" and nothing of substance any more.
................. Facts and figures brother not just mere allegations and abuses...... Civility is a virtue. We are blessed

I may disagree with Falana on charging her to the ICC based specifically on the $2.1b Dasukigate, but for her to claim she fought corruption and linking her mum's kidnap to her acclaimed fight is nothing but fallacy.

Sincerely, Falana seems to have become an embarrassment in recent years. What those who know him closely speak about his integrity is benumbing. Wish he could just relax and focus on probono cases for the underprivileged. It is a pitiable error to hunt for legacy by targeting NOI. I bet it's more about an international audience than about any love for Nigeria.

Come to think of it, why hasn't he added his voice to the argument concerning human rights of detained persons? Whether for or against? I suspect the reason is that Human Rights crusades served to earn him prominence & Supreme Court appearances necessary for SAN applications over the years. Now, be appears to be looking for another frontier. Younger people have cornered oyibo money in the NGO-support business.

It'll be interesting to see his next attempt at the global stage

NOI should go and defend herself before ICC anytime she is invited to do so. All this her long epistle won't change the fact that she served as the coordinating minister of finance in a regime that corruptly cornered $2.1billion. If she has any shame left in her, she should come out openly and apologies to Nigerians for her incompetence.
No matter what good job she did, it won't be forgotten that she presided over a period of financial recklessness, monumental corruption and economic woes.

You need to understand that my comment is in response to a forumite, not just the OP.

You should have asked for clarification, or better still, read why Falana decided to take the case to the ICC in his own essay. He is looking at #Dasukigate from human right abuse angle, not just corruption. The said $2.1 billion is supposed to be used to fight Boko Haram, but Dasuki decided to share it among PDP members, thereby denying the people that died as a result of non-availability of military hardware to fight Boko Haram, their right to life. If you ask me, I will tell you Falana is a good student of logic.

How was TSA her brain child? Please explain.

Was she responsible for drafting section 80 subsection 1 of the question1999 constitution ?

Section 80 (1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended states “All revenues, or other moneys raised or received by the Federation (not being revenues or other moneys payable under this Constitution or any Act of the National Assembly into any other public fund of the Federation established for a specific purpose) shall be paid into and form one Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation”
The consolidated revenue fund is the same thing as the treasury single account.

When I read things like these from people like you, I have hope that it is not all doom in this country.

I thought I was the only one that noticed NOI was not articulate and Eloquent. I was saying this on another thread. When I read people praise her as brilliant, it baffles me.

Look at the reply coming from her media person. How can she bring her mother's kidnap into the discussion. Saying, those against her fight in corruption kidnapped her mother.

It baffles me how the so called Best Nigerian woman can not see that the kidnapping of her mother has to do with the terrible state the economy of the country was/is. Able working young men prefer to risk their lives because of lack of jobs.

She is telling us she had nothing to do with the massive corruption that happened under her. The worst case of looting in the history of Nigeria. Can someone tell me how a smart person, running the country's finance had no idea of such looting in such a great scale? Does that not show she had no business being the minister of Finance?

Yet, some come here and tag such incompetence as the best we ever had.
If Nigeria isn't a messed up country, this woman shouldn't even be talking. After overseeing and signing off tens of billions of dollars to be looted - she ought to be locked up in a dungeon, without food, for crime against humanity. The fact that she scammed Nigeria billions of dollars to bailout the EU zone in the name of debt repayment - using a company she's on the board of directors to "negotiate" a deal, yet folks still allowed the same rogue of a woman to become a minister again - shows how fvcked Nigeria is. Obviously, she'll get recognition from those she robbed Nigeria to pay.

She has all the degrees in the world, but always sound utterly dumb and inarticulate in interviews. I'd bet my life that she won't even be able to say everything she wrote up in words, if how dumb she sounds in interviews, is anything to go by. However, you'll see loafers and educated illiterates adoring the same rogue. That's the problem with a society like Nigeria where the overwhelming majority are intellectual scums, educated illiterates, and stark illiterates - and emphasis is always placed on paper qualifications and not problem solving skills. It's one thing to be able to regurgitate, with garbage in and garbage out - to excel academically. It's another thing to be able to apply it to real life situations and solve problems. Higher minds deal with the latter - while duffers like those who populate Nigeria deal with the former. Hence Nigeria will never be able to fix its peculiar problems.

Iweala is a disgrace.

I think we are witnessing the result of massive examination malpractice and sorting through schools. The daftness of the Nation is alarming and it is easy for the corrupt class to through in some ethnic or tribal information to have a lot of Nigerians lapping their words like if it is liquid gold.

The evidences against this woman is alarming but you see people dancing around her dumb inarticulate words as if it is the Words of the next Ghandi.

I hope Iweala pays for her crimes against Humanity. If she walks free, then President Buhari failed all those who stood by him to rule us.

I tot as much...ur line of argument is where my tot went.
>>There is no morality in politics, and to dat extent dat "logic" lacks merit & will not be entertained (watch & see if ICC will make any comments in it). Let me take u down memory lane; in 2003, U.S invaded Iraq without d mandatory approval of d UN Security Council. The U.S govt reason for invading Iraq which led to a NEEDLESSLY MASSIVE lose of lives & properties was at d end of d war a figment of its imagination. Alas! Iraq had no stock pile of WMD. Was dat not a brazen & direct Crime against Humanity? But in dis case Dasuki's offence is not a case of Genocide or Crime Against Humanity.
>>It is on record & properly documented too dat between February 14, 2015 to March 28, 2015 Nigerian Army degraded Boko-haram sufficiently such dat elections were smooth in d North & we had less of boko-haram as from March (verify). It was all over d media dat d reason for dis success was because d Army had been equipped. where I'm going to is dis, in court the question den will be, "TO WHAT EXTENT CAN THE PROSECUTING COUNCIL ARGUE THAT THE MISAPPROPRIATION OF $2.1b WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR DEATHS OF NORTH EASTNERS, IF THE SUCCESS RECORDED IN DEGRADING BOKO-HARAM IN 6 WEEKS & SUSTAINED UNTIL MAY 29, 2015 WEN BUHARI TOOK OVER IS ANYTHING TO GO BY, HOW CAN THEY LINK THE NUMBER OF DEATHS TO THE SAID AMOUNT?
>>Guideline: in 2003, the Supreme Court of Nigeria upheld d election of Obasanjo on d premise dat d electoral malpractices in d Presidential election WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO ALTER THE RESULT OF THE ELECTION. Hope u now understand d logic in d question I asked?
