coldsummer:Well, we may quarel with the Economist, but frankly speaking this is one man who we can call a giant of all Nigeria's past leaders; but under his watch a lot of economic fraud were perpetrated, since Nigeria is nose-diving economically, can we refer to him as an intellectual giant? |

trappatoni:The neutral are in the minority, those pro-jonathan will condemn it but those anti-jonathan will praise it. Its very visible in one of the comments made above, where someone commented saying: calling jonathan a baboon is an Insult to baboons that he is worse than that" and you could see the number of likes that comment amassed, the 2nd highest no of likes so far on this topic. Thats why I said, OBSERVE! |

This is no insult to reasonable Nigerians. Those who feel insulted are those who are happy that over one trillion dollars of Nigerias money has been looted and kept in already developed countries which makes citizens of those countries look like white supremacist. |

So which of the two words is incorrect or that is so upsetting to you people? Is it the use of "ineffectual" or is it the "buffoon" part? Tell me which one is not correct about oga Goodluck Jonathan? ![]() Chei, Nigerians are funny. No wonder nothing ever changes in Naija. |

Lest I forget, I recall that snoopy doggy, the American rapper, once described Jonathan in a manner similar to the Economist's description of him as a clueless buffoon! Jonathan leaves no one in doubt about his intellectual inadequacies. Despite the recent challenge thrown at him to publicly tender his PhD thesis, he has not been able to!! Jonathan, simply put, is incompetent, timid, unconvincing and incapable of effectual leadership, even with hundred Reuben Abati around him!!! I like him as a person, but his pretence to sophistication is irritating. |

Adminisher:I am sure you are one of those idiotic Nigerians who would be in an international setting, and hear some person insult Nigerians, its President and Nigeria and you would keep quiet like a mumufied slowpoke and take the nonsense. Americans have their issues and most of them are unhappy with Obama and they talk about it within America but outside America you dare not insult their President or past leaders in their face, same thing with France. You are here telling me nonsense history. |

Bevista:you are so on point.Even if Jonathan didn't do well in office that does not warrant them tagged a former president of Nigeria in such a derogatory manner.that's y i was against APC when they were hurling all manner of insults @ the presidency now this is what it has resulted to.I hope this same so called economist won't lash buhari with such names after he must have finished running Nigeria |

jagbajantus:I agree with you 100 percent but let's pause for a minute,,,,in as much as his stewardship was abysmal and poor nothing gives them that right to call an ex president of a sovereign state such derogatory names. We can insult OBJ, IBB, PMB,GEJ at home but pls not some crazy economist using such terms haba.its a national disgrace and i can tell u that the US are not in agreement with most of Obama's policies but they dare not Insult him on a public stage and that's what we call National pride |

shugaboy6102:My brother, I read your post. Please know that Obama has been called many insulting, disrespectful and even derogatory names in the US, names that are even ten times worse by his millions of opponents, especially those who are in the rival Republican Party and by some of the racist, bigoted section of the dominant White-owned media and those White people who do not like the idea that a "Black" person is even President of the United States. He has been called a "liar" loudly and in public by certain US Senators and Congressmen (who don't like him and who do not support him). He has been publicly accused of being a Muslim (just because his father is Kenyan) even though everyone clearly knows that he has been a practicing Christian all his life, and had attended the same Church in the city of Chicago for many decades. He has been accused of not being "born" in America even though they know clearly that he was born in Hawaii (which is one of the 50 States of the USA). They have falsely questioned his loyalty to America. They have even called his wife Michelle a monkey even though she is very beautiful and an elegant, educated and very intelligent Black woman - even much smarter and better educated than most of these ignoramuses that choose to call her ugly names. The difference in the US is that people believe that you have freedom to say whatever you like about anybody - even if it is stupid or ignorant. No politician or leader is "worshiped" or treated as a "god" no matter how big or popular or famous that person may be. If you don't like it, you can sue that person in court. But you can't flog them or kidnap or beat them up. Don't let us even bother to compare Jonathan and Obama. It is not even close! GEJ was a sidonlook type of President. Obama is not! There is corruption in every country in the world (including the US). The difference between Nigeria and the US is that if you are caught in Nigeria, you may get away scot-free (depending on who you are, who you know and people who are your friends but in the US, they will prosecute your ass to the highest limit and lock you ass up, if you are found guilty. And as long as the evidence is there, believe me, they will find it and use it against you! There are no sacred cows. No one is above the law. It doesn't matter whether you are a prince, a billionaire, a millionaire, a governor, a beauty pageant, a king or even a president. No one cares. No one is above the law. That is what Nigeria needs to do. Stop worshiping people. Treat every man and woman the same. Judge people only by their own merit and their merit alone, and Nigeria will become a much better country for everyone. PERIOD! |
