Henry240: Notice all those NAF pilots are so young like aged 21 to 28 years, a NAF officer told me that at age 28 years old, many NAF pilots already have 5 years combat experience and that the new NAF JF-17 Thunder pilots team will include a young team of elite pilots called THE TIGERS, he refused to gives any names and say how many are these elite TIGERS. Who are these secret pilots and what makes them superior to older pilots who have flown Alpha jets for 15 years ? 2 Likes |

Interesting pictures time!! 1. Rooikat with RCWS 2. Ratel logistics - only ever made it to prototype. Interesting idea. 3. Early prototype from Project Hoefyster 4. Rooikat SPAAG variant, only ever a protoype. Good thing we didnt take it further as IMO these days SPAAG is more of a luxury than a necessity.

Patchesagain:Ethiopia joined AMISOM in 2014, as of now all African forces in Somalia are under AMISOM, couldnt find an updated one, only have one from 2013, which showed AMISOM/Allied control up to the begining of 2013, since then major advancements have been made..... (especially during operation Indian Ocean -google it) AMISOM by contribution 1)Uganda -6,223 troops based in Sector 1 which comprises of Banadir (HQ Mogadishu), Middle and Lower Shabelle regions. 2) Burundi - 5,432 troops -HQ'd in Baidoa, 3) Ethiopia 4395 troops - Also HQ'd in Baidoa sector 3 4)Kenya - 3664 troops -Control South Somalia- HQ'd in Kismayu 5) Djibouti- 960 boots on the ground based in Beletweyne(hiraan region) 6) Siera Leone -800 - Operate in Kismayu alongside KDF THe northern parts of Somalia are self declared indipendent stated which have managed to stay away from Alshabaabs control since they were alsready in control b4 alshabaab was formed. Alshabaab has lost alot of terrotory but you have to know that, they change tact everytime they suffer a major loss, they re-invent themselves everytime, when the AMISOM mission started, it was about territory, AS used to fight back, sort of like conventional,, Since then Alshabaab has tried every kind of warfare, what we see now is a hybrid of everything..... Before AMISOM advances whith their big guns in slow-paced convoys and artillery units to a place, they have to find a means to anounce to the residents of that town so they dont get in the crossfire, what alshabaab does , is simply leave the town and move somewhere else. In short what am saying is, in my opinion, Alshabaab has refused to play AMISOM's game, its now time for AMISOM to beat AS at their own game, part of AMISOM needs to be a large team of special forces...... then small specialised teams need to do exactly what AS is doing to AMISOM, we Ambush them, kill as many as we can, and disapear in the bush, SF teams that will operate from outside the battlefield, teams that nobody will see them coming from miles away, teams whose sole purpose would be to frustrate the enemy and deeply immobilize his movements, from his own controlled territories-- I realise that is expensive to run, but if we do that for like 6months, they will be afraid to even peep through the window of their houses for fear of being sniped anytime |
