Patches this is the second time you are launching unprovoked attacks on my comments and on me today, and I have refrained from replying.

If I start replying now, this thread will me derailed and you will start saying you did not start it.

@everybody, I think you can all see what Patches has started again today provoking me without any good reason, you wanna let him ruin this thread? I could retaliate on him and this thread gets messed up again, the South Africans always start the mess and at the end they deny.

What kind of people are these people? See below, the kind of cartoon images he is sending as reply to my comments that are not directed at him. Could you please caution him to leave me alone?

This thread is not your personal blog, stop making long verbal posts

I really don't know the sort of magic those Egyptians are pulling, I wonder how they are able to afford all this purchases.

The KA-52 is a badas$ helo! Very modern and agile.
Its funny you say that!! just a few weeks ago you knew exactly how they afforded their purchases.

You also need to understand that the war on bokoharam and alshabaab might be similar but are on diferent battlefields, the one on bokoharam is on Nigerian soil.... you can deploy all means without having to seek approval, you can deploy thousands of troops and no one asks questions, you are in your own terrreign, you know the language, you know the people, you have complete sovereignty of what ever you do.

The only battle-untested country in Somalia is Kenya, Uganda has had its fare share of insurgency, Burundi too, Ethiopia has been fighting wars since pre-independence(There is a reason they werent colonized), but even them had to withdraw from Kismayu in 2005 beacause of the dynamics of Somalia, the politics of Somalia, only the Somalis know how to deal with... this is not just about winning battles, there is alot of politics involved. There is a team of 100 US special forces in Mogadishu, UK sent 300 royal marines as advisors to Somalia, and yes, there is already a team of AU advisors from different African countries in Mogadishu who go into the planning and policy organization of AMISOM missions... Go to their website

I advise you forget all those 400 American/British trainers and advisors, their military failed to defeat Taliban in Afghanistan after 13 years of war. Same NATO that trained Iraqi army that lost large chunk of Iraqi land and oil industry to ISIS militants.

AMISOM is better off with a PMC of African origin, Uganda is in AMISOM and have used Col. Eben Barlow's PMC to fight insurgency, why not Uganda advise AMISOM to hire STTEP ? Let Africa help Africa, that is what Col. Eben has been saying recently.

Nigeria and Algeria also had heavy politics involved in their war on terror, these countries have the experience of how an Islamist thinks and they will be very helpful, especially the Arab Islamic Algerian nation, they know all these fundamentalist philosophy and war tactics.

Also, Nigeria has the forest insurgency combat experience in Sambisa and Alegrano forests fighting Boko Haram for 6 years, Algeria has the desert war experience fighting the GIA terrorits, bros 150,000 innocent Algerian civilians were slaughtered by terrorists in cold blood inside their villages and towns.

Let Africa help Africa using our best resources, Ethiopia is a good conventional war force, but they have no experience of substantial success against the likes of Ansar ul Deen, Boko Haram, GIA, etc.

Maybe a good formula will be AMISOM fighting force + STTEP PMC advisers/trainers + ALGERIA advisers + NIGERIA advisers.

I think it's useful to call in the AU African Arab member nations into Somalian war on terror.

I am posting on AU-AMISOM ops in Somalia, how is that off topic on this African thread? You posted an American hip hop rap music youtube video today, showing music star Busta Rhymes ON THIS MILITARY THREAD, so you are the one on topic, right? Are you normal at all? Or you need special help?

listening to the hullabaloo about the recent acquisition by kenya police armoured personnel carriers on social media by even some of the most influential people in kenya .there is a need to educate fellow african citizens on matter concerning the state of this continent security and defence, most of them are in the dark with just basic know-how.what our men and women in uniform face day to day and what they need to keep us safe and secure

2)I dont know from which country (could be from Algeria, Egypt or SA) but withing AMISOM, there are various attaches from different countries who offer insights based on experience from their countries.... You have to first be an air force personnel. The QRF is a specialised COIN/ Hostage rescue/ Recon unit. Selection is from unit level.

Well bros, your AMISOM 2014 map shows El-Shabbab still controlling large portions of coastline sea access on two large entry points. Even one point of supply is enough to keep arms and ammunition flow to El Shabbab and keep the war going for many more years to come.

ANISOM needs a TOTAL cut off on supply lines of El Shabbab, an enemy with no ammunition. food, and fuel CANNOT fight effectively even if it has weapons in hand. A gun with no bullets kills nobody.

Articles corresponding to the remaining coastal towns on the maps

This is the second airstrike by AU forces against al-Shabab this week. On Sunday, Kenyan fighter jets bombed an al-Shabab base north of Jilib.

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops struck and killed 15 suspected al-Shabaab terrorists in Yantooy, Jubba River in operation to capture Jilib town in Somalia.
.....
KDF spokesman Col David Obonyo said the troops struck Sunday morning and killed the 15 before recovering two boats that they were using to cross the river. Obonyo said the terrorists were trying to cross Jubba River when they were attacked.

Kuday Captured in a beach Landing operation
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Somalia troops working under the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (Amisom) have captured a key port town from Al-Shabaab fighters.

According to a statement signed by Col David Obonyo, a major beach landing operation was carried out at 4.30am Sunday in which several Al-Shabaab fighters were killed.

At the same time, five technical vehicles belonging to the fighters were destroyed and ammunition seized.

Kuday was the remaining Al-Shabaab stronghold in Somalia.http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Kuday-Somalia-captured-Amisom/-/1056/2662046/-/15ecvp0/-/index.html

You can cross reference the names of those towns that are still under AS control with AMISOM on google
