Pls you guys who have gotten a Phd Admission to US schools should kindly share interview experience/questions asked during the online/telephone interview by the universities before the admission/scholarship offer. This is to enable some of us to be better prepared.

thanks
Have you applied for school yet? If no, apply first then when you get to that stage, someone will guide you.

Telephone and online interview is not a difficult stuff.

I applied to Michigan Tech PhD chemistry. I had only my Bsc tho.
was interviewed via Skype by a prof and it was cool.
she basically asked about my undergraduate project, research experience, teaching experience.
She also asked about basic chemistry questions and the faculty members I'd like to work with. It was more like a chat

You're not a serious person.

Having gone through your posts, only you had a GRE score of 296, then 322, and now you haven't written it. Why the information you've been providing us with have been discordant, I don't know.

You also studied Civil Engineering, and would want to major in Pet. And now you are shockingly a graduate Chemical Engineering and want to go for a Masters degree or direct PhD, with the same GPA as your Civil Engineering degree - 3.21/4.

Are you sure you aren't an agent like this? What's the full meaning of the "TIA" you ended your post with? Are you sure it's not "T____ I_____ Agency"

Do me a favour please!!! Gerrarahere! Gerrrarahere mhen sh1t!

Any one with info?

Both my Nigerian passport and the F1 visa on it will expire in June (2016) but my i-20 is valid till Sept 2017. I will be in Nigeria for spring break and I will like to renew my passport via dropoff after obtaining a new passport. Does anyone know how long it takes to get dropoff sorted out in Lagos for F1 visas? Or precautions I need to take; as in experiences with dropoffs. Thanks

Zik Oye

I guess you are talking about renewing your visa via Dropbox because you can't renew passport via Dropbox..

It should be normal 2 to 3 days to approved and pick your visa via Dropbox

Hi guys, I made a mistake in my Ds-160 form. A.who is paying for this trip,I wrote self instead of uncle. I thought it's payment for the flight not studies.I have already booked my interview for this week. What do I do?

Key is start applying as early as possible..for both internships and full-time jobs. For full-time, ideally you want to have at least one offer in hand before you graduate-or things might become tricky with OPT timelines. Brand yourself-highlight your skills on your resume/LinkedIn profile.

The indians you mentioned apply to hundreds and hundreds of openings way before they graduate. Don't limit yourself, especially if you're apply for an entry level position. Connect with recruiters from those companies you apply to on Linkedin too, and drop them a note. Shouldn't be that hard to get something.
The boss has spoken, i must greet u boss, how ur side bro ?

It should not be a problem... I feel it is for flight. I hope you are working class tho.

I don't think that section refers to who pays your flight ticket, I believe it's asking who your sponsor is, ie who sponsors the trip. If you are going to tell the VO that you are sponsoring yourself because you are a working class then your account statement should show it. If your uncle is your sponsor (notwithstanding that you are paying for the flight yourself) then you have to indicate that accordingly.
My humble opinion though.

You are right. I believe the VO won't ask who will pay for flight, instead he/she will ask who is your sponsor, so she answer accordingly to the SOA doc she will be using to support her application.

Its so annoying. We need to very this identity from the University's graduate board. No genuine person will act this way. I have to verify this.
