Crude oil discovery in Nigeria is a curse rather than a blessing.

Maybe a curse to the Niger Delta but a blessing to the northerners...

You won't blame the militants! They heard when the nigerian president clearly said that he will bring about development to "those who voted for him first" before thinking of those who did not hence they would rather blow it up to see to it that the oil spills in their land rather than flow to Kaduna Refinery.

destruction is easier than construction, keep blowing the pipelines soon there would be nothing to supply even your region fuel.

The height of fo0lishness
Buhari and his family are safe from the contamination of this stewpid act.
The poor fishermen, farmers and the people of the surrounding communities will bear the brunt of the contamination.
The most annoying thing is that they will still come back and ask the oil company to clean the spill while still expecting the company to be alive to its social responsibilities.
The most unfortunate thing is the terrorists have supporters even on this forum.

May they never stop their senseless bombings. Whichever way, Nigeria will run, governance won't stop.

Which Northerners? Maybe you mean the ruling class in Nigeria and they span the North, South, East and West. Don't be deceived by the manifestations of ignorance of how Nigeria works that we see around us everyday. Ethnicity/tribalism is just another potent tool in the hands of the ruling class against the ruled. Let them keep fighting as Yorubads, Biafrauds, Almajiris etc while the status quo remains while waiting patiently for Buhari to finish his clean up and leave the stage for a fresh era of looting.

Yet the FG keep wasting Billions of Naira on Amnesty. PMB should have a rethink on that scam disguised as Amnesty.

I used to sympathize and pity the ND whose lands have been destroyed by oil spills for decades but it now appears I (like most other Nigerians) are wrong! The oil companies owned by foreigners are being proved right: the Nigerians of the ND do not care one hoot about their lands and even if oil destroyed the last fish or green sprout, they'd take that for a little handout of money! They bombed a multi-billion dollar infrastructure that will adds and ultimately will always add value to their cities / states, spilled oil that will destroy their environments and cost billions to clean-up, which may not happen for decades given Nigeria's record of handling issues like this, and that is smart? Well, let them just set fire to the place and burn it down completely, let us see who will suffer!

This is why even before the crumbling oil prices, some major oil and gas firms have been divesting from Nigeria.

Those militants have made trading in nigeria very frustrating that any "potential profits" from oil drilling by these firms is not even worth the trouble.

A friend that works with a major oil servicing company once told me how the governance board swore that there's nothing that can entice them into doing business in nigeria just to show you how bad things are.

The mumus responsible for this think they are spiting the government.not knowing they are destroying their lands...
100% resource control/restructuring of the country is the lasting solution to this problem, No amount of military deployment to the niger delta region can secure the entire web of pipelines running through the region. Anything other than that is an exercise in futility.

Seriously? Is this a trick question? Nigeria has been like this since independence. The mentality has always been phucked up. Nigerians will cut off their nose to spite their face. "Hey nose, you wanna phuck with me? Ok. Let's see how you breath now"

all of this is a result of long marginalization of the niger delta people...the niger delta people being quiet and loving were hoodwinked by the oligarchs in the system and after much realization of the wayo played the niger deltans resorted to the madness we see today...true federalism from the inception of this country would have led to nothing but progress and peace..niger deltans were marginalized with respect to jobs in the oil industry..if not for the struggles the niger delta would not enjoy the 13 percent derivative it enjoys today(which is paltry by the way because we want resource control)...

true federalism is the way out...let the niger delta control the oil if not such acts will continue indefinitely...

but its quite annoying that this is happening to agip, the very company that is host community friendly... undecided

[quote author=Litmus post=42545945]See, as I've grown,I've come to respect the wisdom of our forefathers. Even as a child people used to marvel why i was so interested in customs and listening to the old people talking, listening to their tortoise tales and so on and trying to figure what exactly certain practices tells us. Few Nigerians realize now that many Nigerian people's despise jealousy and anger and actively beat it our of children around about the ages of 9 to 16. Nigeria is one of the very few places in the world where cultures understand the insidious nature of jealousy. By that i mean our people understood that Jealousy and anger are childish traits that can be eliminated early. Most of the world's peoples' hadn't come to this understanding. This Nigerian hatred of jealousy even traveled with tribes taken as salves from the delta region and east of Nigeria.

You only succeded in spewing senseless gibberish. Bigot!
