Microsoft buys SwiftKey, maker of the famous Android and iOS keyboard, for $250 million

In case you don't know, SwiftKey is a software keyboard for Android and iOS, and it's extremely popular: at the moment, it's installed on about 300 million devices (Android and iOS combined). According to The Financial Times, Microsoft is paying $250 million for the company behind SwiftKey. Reportedly, the deal will be officially announced later this week.

Hope this is not going to turn out that we will be charged per on a seconds billing because I so much enjoy this keyboard.

Well no need to to talk much.... you can go and read the rest of the stories from my source PhoneArena.com http://www.phonearena.com/news/Microsoft-buys-SwiftKey-maker-of-the-famous-Android-and-iOS-keyboard-for-250-million_id77956

Sane with me. I don't know why that keyboard gets high rating. Swiftley lags like crayze. I use high end phones that don't lag, but once I start using swiftkey it lags and not able to keep up with my typing speed. Overrated rubbish keyboard. Google keyboard way better for me. And now I just installed chroomer keyboard which is way better

Google keyboards does the job just fine..i was totally dissapointed in the keyboard after trying it out. I guess it has to have some form of customization drawing people to it.. But its not for me at all.

Yes customization and autocorrection are great. But they miss the most important thing in a keyboard which is the ability to run smoothly without lag. I almost broke my phone while typing with swiftkey especially when trying on a blog. I think people that enjoy it are used to lags on their phones, for me I have zero lag on my phone so I will not let one stupid keyboard change that.

I have used it on 5 different high end phones and never experienced any lag. It's one of the best keyboards out there if you ask me.

My brother.... I wonder oh
Even me that's what I use both on my Android HTC One M7, Infinix Hot Note and iPhone. even my family members they all use SwiftKey without issues (though it lags on iPhone at times which is a bug on the OS itself as it also lags on swipe keyword)

Well individual differences... I run Android 5.1 on Infinix Hot Note and 5.0.2 on HTC One M7 but I've never seen anything enticing on Google keyword.... Sony Xperia Keyword is even better (personal preference)

Personal preference I guess. I run Google keyboard on my HTC one m7, lg g3 and galaxy s6. I've tried every other keyboard but I still come back to Google keyboard.

SwiftKey's Artificial Intelligence (AI) is mad. And wait, has anybody tried the beta version? I have both SwiftKey keyboard and beta on my phone and since I started using the beta, it's been swift typing all day long.

If you are just a new user of SwiftKey then I wouldn't be surprised that you aren't really enjoying it. I have been using SwiftKey for more than 3 years now. I used the google keyboard, I also used Swype, TouchPal which I believe are the game players in terms of Android keyboard but to be honest to you guys non of them beats SwiftKey.
SwiftKey studies your typing behavior and make typing a lot more easier, though this is a common feature in most Android keyboards, SwiftKey have redefined the whole concept and makes it even more effective.
SwiftKey can store your typing strokes for as long as you are using the app in order to customize your prediction provided you supply your your email address.
I've been blogging with my smartphone, writing blog post of more than 1000 words and that has only been possible with SwiftKey.

I have never used a keyboard as good as SwiftKey. I update it when there's update without wasting time.

I have Google keyboard, Flash and SwiftKey on my phone. But I feel very comfortable using SwiftKey.

Currently using the SwiftKey "Spotlight Orange theme". Lovely!
