As much as the cost of celebrating marriage is relative, with all indices assumed to be normal, how much should ideally be budgeted to cover cost of traditional and white wedding in Nigeria. Please your opinions should be based on the emphasis, 'AVERAGE NIGERIAN' and on the economic condition prevalent in the country.I would love contributions from single female folks and married men and just about anyone wit an idea.

@Op, the truth is it all depends on what you are looking at. But it is important you understand it is not how much you spend that makes a marriage successful, potential couples should disabuse their minds from elaborate societal wedding ceremonies but should engage the families involved earnestly and see how lots of unnecessary cost can be done away with. Specifically Nigerians should start inculcating ceremonies with very few family members and not involving a whole lot of logistics cost moving families from one part of the country to another.

Pastors are still in the business of joining couples alone without ceremonies and the weddings are still successful, it is not about the gatherings but about keeping to your marital vows and making your marriage a success and grooming a godly goodly family.

I hope you can think on these few lines and my guess is, if one truly wants to get married, it doesn't cost a thing. With a little over 100k it will be settled.
