I concur absolutely! This is a matter of moral burden but as we all know Saraki is a man with little or no morality but he must go. Anyone who has these grievous & criminal charges levelled against him /her intently knows that he/she is a gonner. Even if these charges were against Buhari without an immunity by now the street will be choke with protest demanding for his resignation. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

I do not think this man will resign because If he resigns Ekweremadu will take over and will APC allow that to happen? 3 Likes |

sayyid: It doesn't work like that! If he resigns or is impeached, the Clerk of the Senate will be led to declare the position Vacant. And then, a new Senate President Is elected...that is the Law!! 28 Likes 3 Shares |

Their logic is faulty. If we agree that a man who is facing criminal allegations cannot lead the senate, then we are opening the doors for the executive to control the leadership of the senate. In as much as the criminal prosecution power is in the hands of the executive, it means any government that doesn't like a particular senate president or House of rep speaker only has to institute a case against him, no matter how frivolous and the person accused would have to resign. That doesn't make sense. Saraki is innocent until proven guilty. If he is convicted then he has to go, but not otherwise 21 Likes 3 Shares |

sayyid: Why will Ekweremadu takeover? Is it a joint ticket? Saraki contested as Saraki while Ekweremadu contested as Ekweremadu. There's no room for any joint ticket. So if the (Senate) President is impeached, dies or resigns, another Election is always the way out. 6 Likes 1 Share |
