Same questions, but try and know your sponsor very well, His Occupation, where he lives in Germany, How long he ve lived in Germany, marital status and names and number of his/her kids if married, date of birth etc. you must not know how much He earns monthly. Also you must be able to prove or have a prove that he will sponsor you.

As long as they can get the sponsorship letter, proof of funding is established, however, good knowledge of your school, its state, then your sponsor, how you're related, where they live, work, etc (Already its indicated on the letter) but they are going to ask and try to trace a good relationship link btw u both, a good reason for why u're going for MSc, also take note of questions related to timeline from your graduation till now, #GAPS. Answer well, be sincere. They're humans. MOST OF ALL, PRAY before going!

yes they will ask you how you get to know him, the relationship btw you and him. During my time my sponsor used cousin for me, and i defended it.
when they ask you Prove that he will sponsor you, just tell the VO that he has been the one taking care of you and your studies in Nigeria. you don't need document for that.

Mehn! You should have e-mailed them before going na.... But all the same, someone gave you an option of certifying @ the highcourt or using a notary public. Funny thing is i certified my docs using both highcourt and a notary pub... They are all acceptable. The only ishh you might have is with your school, make sure you read through the specifications for certification of documents and you can also e-mail the course coord just to be very sure... Cheers bro
I did oo., I called and mailed them and waited for their response for over a week before I embarked on the journey...anyways, still trying to locate notary pub here, thanks bruh

my fellow country people...i hail o!

new brother in the house. opened my account just a few moments ago so i can collect advice from the bosses here (although i don already go use profile go find trouble for another thread. i hope i dont become addicted to this nairaland sha...God dey)

I hail the good job you bros have been doing. I dont follow all the seasons of this thread till i reach this page. Been very helpful on my journey, I must say.

My issues are as follows. Please help me deal with it and God bless you as you do so.

1. Una don dey shout learn german since last century. I plan to go in winter 2016 Godwilling, so I am trying to learn as advised by the house. problem is, I cant seem to get a teacher. Goethe no get space for me till april 9too late for me) and their teachers there keep posting me regarding private lesson. Can anyone refer me to a good teacher to take up my case? (pls not mr ismaila or mr musibaudeen. na dem don dey dribble me sofar)

2. I need to fund my Blocked account. Can someone pls direct me to a bank that can do form A requests ASAP? i don weak with all the bad news that I have been getting from so many banks. One lady at GTBank said she has several form A requests that have been pending for 4 months now. Please, house, help me with this info. God will help you all...

2. all opinions welcome on this next one. I have applied to schools in hamburg and aachen, and i plan to apply to more schools in dortmund and bremen. question is, which one sure pass for emplyment that omo boy can use to keep body and soul together? and if i find some work on the side, can it possibly cover my bills to the point where i dont need to significantly touch my blocked account? (will like to keep these funds so i can fulfil the financial terms of my second year of education in germany)

3. Finally and most importantly: I am a married man, and my wife plans to join me soon after i leave. she is a uk grad and works for an financial firm in nigeria currently. will she be able to work if she comes over to join me? (I will be doing an msc). I cant seem to find conclusive info on this, so I will appreciate the opinion of someone with firsthand or reliable secondhand info on this one.

Make una no vex say my first post na essay. I have been told i talk too much by many people. But he who always asks for directions will never get lost. Direct me, Senseis...Danke...

1) For your survival in germany, you need to learn the language. its the gateway to opportunities. and when we say learn.. it not "Jelenke" and broken german.. You speak "sehr gut deutsch etwas B2" then you'll see opportunities flying up and down. As for Private Lesson, I cant say much but talk to others like Frau Amafili, Frau Tosin. Herr Ismaila is planning something but not yet revealed. with time, you will know.

2) The question is: Have you gotten admission to study in Germany? If yes, I'd advise you to go to the embassy with the admission letter (2x), blocked account form (filled but not signed 2 copies), passport data page (2x) this process will allow Deutsch bank to open a student blocked account for you. After some weeks.. 4-8 weeks precisely, your new account number will be communicated to you. Proceed to UNION bank HQ, to initiate the transaction. Other banks also initiate Form A transaction like Stanbic, Fidely, Sterling, First bank, and Access bank. but Union bank has been confirmed to be the fastest but expensive means of Form A transfer. So the option lies with you. but ensure you visit the head office of the banks stated above to carry out the transaction. Stanbic bank is fast as well. but Union bank is tested and confirmed.

3) Hamburg is a great place to study and jab. Aachen is in NRW which has cities like koln, dusseldorf, dortmund, and so on. you will always get something to do when you land but your language skill will propel you to a higher paying job. though menial students jobs are readily available. But oga, that ya mindset of not touching your Blocked account get as he be.. To be very candid with you, your first 1-2 months will be spending spree/Galore... Housing and kaution, semester fees, city registration, Insurance(esp if you are over 30 undecided), Visa renewal appointment, internet, food, clothes, und so weiter.. Just zero your mind and trust/hope in God. Your second year will always be sorted out when you settled down.

4) Since you'll be going for studies. The only means your wife could join you will be via "Studentship" I doubt if a student can file for family re-union.. (no sure though) but Oga, the best and surest way for your partner is via studentship. as for the work, she has to learn the language as well. its not automatic/instata. even though.. she'll also get a menial job.

Yes, Go to their Walter Carrington office to carry out the transaction cos Idejo is mainly for Bureau de Change

BUT.. They always request for SIGNED admission letter. So if your admission letter does not carry a signature, they will reject the transaction.

But futurewiser, you dey Canada thread too nah.. and also got admission into winnipeg university Manitoba?

All the best !

Official rate directly from CBN as at 02/10/2016 was 221 (selling rate)
Forex rate is pegged at 224.38 (Google)

So if you are using union bank.. Its the Forex rate + 10 naira = 234/euros
Other banks. Forex rate + (between 4/8 naira) = e.g 228, 229, 230, 231, e.t.c

But these rates changes intermittently..

All the best !

Concerning the issue about wife/girlfriend joining you while as a student in Germany, i mailed the embassy and got a reply.

It says, my girlfriend can join me throughout the entire duration of my studies in Germany but i have to wait until we get married before applying. (Meaning if you're already married, you have no problem).

On the issue of the funds needed if i'm to come to Germany with my girlfriend, it says it will be determined by the Alien office, so i have to apply first.

Can she work? Yes.

I hope this helps.
