They are manned, emmerson electric 30mm

They are to the aft of the vessel

I thought the pic was front of the vessel, now I see its the back. Yes La Combattante class FAC uses Emerson as medium calibre guns, however they are amidships not aft deck on the La Combattante.

They are manned 30mm. They are a standard armament of all our missile crafts of that era. They are a secondary armament.

Thanks. Just realized vessel was photographed from aft deck behind. Emerson 30mm amidships.

You can see the turret shape and the iconic RCWS quite clearly

Challenger has never been destroyed by enemy action and has only been penetrated once (driver lost a toe). One Challenger survived over 40 RPG and ATGM hits.

Abrams tanks we see getting penned in Iraq are M1A1 which are now over 34 years old and lack the DU +Graphite (DU = Depleted Uranium) layer.

Performance speaks for itself, during the entire Iraq/Afghanistan of ~14 years no single M1A2 or M1A2 SEP was ever penetrated by ATGM's with the only crew loss being from a tank that drove off a bridge into a river.
Nice one
Sterling records speak for themselves.
If it ain't speaking on the theater, it definitely shouldn't be talking on the internet.
cool

A Uganda People’s Defense Force soldier fires a rocket-propelled grenade during a live-fire training Aug. 20, 2014, at Camp Singo, Uganda. U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Wayne Grigsby Jr., Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa commanding general, and other leaders from CJTF-HOA watched the live-fire training, toured the training facilities and met with the commandant and training staff. Agaugust is right. Minimum caliber for the infantry man should be a 12.7mm. All MRAPs, LAVs and Gun-trucks in Nigeria carry a 12.7mm minimum. Firepower wins you wars.
Wrong.

Ignoring force composition.

Force composition is not ignored, it is upgraded to deal with the quintessential threats faced. Understand the difference.

It is.

Then why isn't force employment, tactics and fire support discussed?

You're saying all vehicles should be armed with 12,7mm systems, without looking at what fire support systems should a your units have at it's disposal. And ignoring logistics and money.

he should register for jamb if possible, then take NDA's form, that's if he's interested in becoming an officer or he could fill in for recruitment. I've heard soldiers are allowed to go for there degrees while serving

Getting into the army with just an SSCE is no good. Your cousin needs to think long term. He should instead sit for jamb, then pick NDA form. Or get a BS.c, go in for DSSC.

Deathmachine, Nigerdeltaboi and Youngmoneypi are in a better position to provide sound advice. All 3 guys are in the military.

Sure we are, all the photos of Nigeria's participation in the 2015 edition of this exercise are in this thread. Unfortunately there isn't quite as much media coverage this year.

There really is no point in having a lecture on all of the aforementioned. Tactics are going to be revised upwards based on theater experiences.

I'm saying all vehicles which previously came in a 7.62 or lower configuration should be upgraded to 12.7mm or 50 CAL. Logistics and money would flow through the normal channels.

It works for the Nigerian army, we revised upwards all 7.62, now, the military is better of because of it. Affordable firepower wins wars.

I want the KDF & UPDF to review their armaments, especially the kDF as their current configuration doesn't cut it.
