Russian Kornet and Chinese Red Arrow ATGM have 8km missile ranges against targets.

Soweto fool grin

Your knowledge concerning missiles is up to shiit. With 8Km missiles does not mean you have to engage targets at exactly 8Km because the weapon will be ineffective. It works the same with a riffle. If the missile range is 8Km it means you will have to be as far as 6Km or at least around that vicinity in order for the weapon to be effective. Use your science knowledge, you fool.

What @Henry240 and @Agaugust also don't get, is that the tests were carried out almost 5 years ago back in 2011 using telemetry missiles.

Just a few months ago they tried to disregard a source of mine that dated back to 2012, now all of a sudden they are trying to draw conclusions on tests done back in 2011.......talk about being hypocritical!!!!!!!!!!

Nope, we are drawing conclusion on MARKETING DEMONSTRATION TO POTENTIAL BUYERS DONE 14 DAYS AGO that ended up in failure of Rooivalk, Gripen, and Mokopa. 3-in-1 triple failure in one day tonguetongue

UN officer in Congo, most likely bribed with money by Denel marketers, praised Rooivalk for a job done by Mi-35 Hinds that hovers well and has superior firepower over the twice expensive Rooivalk fat turkey.

Mokopa fraudulently advertised as 10 km range, Denel decieved Algeria and exported Mokopa with fake range. Today Mokopa fails and missed target at 8km, sure it will miss target at 6km.

So much for the claim of "South African made defence products are same class as those of Europe....we have the biggest defence industry in Africa, we are top 20 arms exporters in the world....blah blah blah...."

South Africa is exporting fake products with fraudulent claims of false performance capabilities.

I said it before that 10 km range Mokopa will NEVER work, now I am proved right in the eyes of the whole world today !!!!!

Like I have repeatedly stated, let SANDF go test all these their shiny painted and over-rated untested weapons in a real war and let us see their performance, let us count how many targets they will miss per day on the battlefield !

Agaugust give me any of the ATGMs you know that can engage the target at the range of 8Km? You haven't answered me yet because all the missiles you listed have max range of 8Km and will never engage target at that range because the rotor engine would have depleted its thrusting power before it reaches that range. Chances will be 90% sure case that the target will be missed.

Ouch!! Agaugust fails yet again.

Aguagu, that is very logic. Missile's range are controlled by the motor engine mounted in them and as soon as the missile is launched it loses its thrusting power throughout its journey. Remember that the missile makes turns and twists throughout its flight and requires power. If the missile ranges up to 8Km, it will not mean that targets will have to be engaged at maximum range because you will only remain a fool to engage targets at that range. It will be a waste because you will stand 99% chance to miss the target.

You're talking 6 km, the missile won't hit a target standing 10 meters away.

Denel's logic did not advertise that its power thrust will fail before 10 km, they said it has 10 km attack range, and ex-SAAF air force chief called it an 'over the horizon distance missile'. Aguagu thinks missile range follow a displacement. Missiles do not engage targets in a straight line. You can stand exactly 8km distance away and the missile can decide to take over 8Km because of turns it makes throughout its flight.

Ouch!! Aguagu fails yet again.

2. Ingwe ATGM on Ratel IFV = 2.5 km with lots of fasting
3. Mokopa ATGM on Rooivalk helicopter = 5 km with extra-extra goodluck, less than 10 metres more certain

So just so i can understand....when a country is looking to purchase a new missile like Mokopa, they do it like they are buying a loaf of bread? Read what is written about it (nutrients, calories etc etc) then buy it? If things like missiles are quick and easy to buy, why do defence deals take so long? Why do you hear of a rumour that X wants buy from Y, then only many months later a deal is made public?

Very simple answer....country Y will verify every single piece of advertised data. People think Algeria came for a 2 day shopping spree and just filled Mokopa in a shopping basket and left? They bought 100 missiles from Denel, they did so because each technical aspect of the missile was proven to them over many months.....i know that, personally. Long before articles are printed on Defenceweb internal memos are circulated throughout Denel stating the progress of tests to potential customers. Hence why i said a few weeks ago to look out for Denel's biggest deal ever, you wont find it on Defenceweb or Janes yet.

Missiles are tested in various flight regimes. A-Darter went through the same process. It was never always fired at max range and max g's. Mokopa has a range of 10km, end of story.

Common sense is not common among you blind supporters
That you cannot see how bad the NAF is
That you cannot see how ill equipped the navy is
That you cannot come to terms with the fact that our military needs urgent retooling
Rather you come here to attack a certain African military who by international and reasonable standards has done exceedingly well.

You failed to tell us about one missile you know that can engage the target successfully at that range of 8Km. You failed to take the terrain into consideration because the denel missile testing range is mountainous and thus makes it difficult for the laser beam to remain tightly locked to the target. You should also take the platform that was used to shed laser beam to the target in consideration.

Why did Denel claim what it cannot do? Leave other countries missiles aside, the topic is WHY HAS DENEL MADE THIS FRAUDULENT 10 KM RANGE CLAIM FOR 7 YEARS ?

Mokopa missed target at 8 km, not even 10 km....despite being given an easy target pre-arranged and marked by SAAF 'advanced hi tech' Gripen and UN 'acclaimed rebel killer, superior target finder' Rooivalk ? Why miss at 8 km with a 7 year long claim of 10 km capability?

The mokopa was tested at a pre-known, pre-defined, static target,
