Weep no more parents, coz there are lots of universities, polytechnics & college of education here in Nigeria..
They should all withdraw there lads from all those oversea schools coz they are using those kids studies oversea to delapiidate the little foreign reserve we have tht would have being used @ forex for importation of important goods into the country,,,
only students going to study professional courses & those going for research with guarantee tht they will return to practise should only be given preference...
why should a student be going abroad to study political sc.,sociology, etc with our foreign reserve s going down the drain.,,abeg let them withdraw all of them & send to schools in Nigeria,,afterall, there are still gud private universities here if u feel u dont like govt. Owned schools..

I'm sorry, but this is arrant nonsense. Are you the only country who has citizens studying abroad? Why should it be an option for all of us to return back home after the time and efforts invested? Have you any idea that so many Nigerians who go out to 'hustle' sometimes go out of the country with the excuse to study? Blame the silly government this nation Nigeria has had since time immemorial for the pitiable standard of education we have. Don't heap unnecessary blames on people who have been opportune somehow to want the best for themselves. Imagine an individual who is incredibly intelligent, having to waste 3-4 years of his/her life waiting to be admitted, and not given the proper accolade with regards to certificates when it comes to the private schools.

Pls is dia no way 1 can send out cash via western union, moneygram, etc anymore?
If sending thru western union and others can help, why not use those medium? Perhaps doing that will be at the official rate.

If the government wants to stop Nigerian students from going abroad to study, they should scrap JAMB and create better admission opportunities and processes here, why cause JAMB is more of a business than an admission body,if they want the ones overseas to come back and school here in Nigeria, then they should order Universities to startup functional transfer programs so the ones overseas can easily continue from whatever level they stopped over there.

Saying they should stop wasting there time crying and come back to Nigeria just like that is not fair, especially to the average families who are doing there best to train there ward abroad so he or she studies the discipline he wants probably because here in Nigeria they either deny your admission or change your course. So let's be open minded before we start abusing them.
exactly! you just took the words out of my mouth! I was already planning to apply for German visa to go abroad! Naija is truly bleeped up indeed! seeking admission since 2014! is that fair??

Fire, you are quick to use the term "hypo /Jik" but what is this one you swing from thread to thread with divergent opinions about USD scarcity?

Where is the Forex supposed to come from when oil is trading @ 32$ (minor miracle) , the country almost entirely depend on just the proceeds from this single commodity & I'm 100% sure you in your personal capacity produces nothing worthy of export!!

Chill "high chief" (jury is still out on that one,) there is life outside of your angst/bitterness/beed with Tinubu.... you can't keep harping on that, free your mind & live your life!! not everything is political! Pele! sad

I heard he and Idumuose of blessed memory are election riggers. They once rigged for Jagaban (as revealed my Idumuose). Seems his bitterness stems from the fact he wasn't paid in full for his job. cheesy

Pitiful. I'm seething with anger as I read the comments. How is sending your own child to the university of their choice a luxury? It's fucking insane how people think on here. So many jealous people not thinking rationally. Put your envy behind for a second and see how unfeasible sending them back home is. Do things always have to work backwards in Africa?

So because you are still within the shores of Nigeria, other individuals should automatically do the same??

Your government depends on foreign help to process the crude oil they have. Why don't we equally send these white people in Nigeria back home and depend solely on our efforts to process our own oil?? Better yet, let us have your brother come home too.

The sooner you begin to understand the huge impact of globalization and complex inter-dependency, the better for all of us.

High chief of neverlandd, what are you producing? If you have, exporting it won't be a problem, People who are into cashew export are making a killing right now so don't peddle falsehood, the problem is that most people became over reliant on cheap oil proceeds & didn't look for alternatives before now..

Why did you also sidestep your earlier assertion? Ba sincerity of purpose ko?

Mr wailer up there, schooling abroad is a luxury!! that your country's educational standard is falling & you choose to seek alternative (great decision) is cool, but it doesn't make it less of a luxury!!!!

Some things are just common sense & logic, wailing, nit picking & bitching about everything isn't opposition...

Just been reading all ur dull comments. So buhari travelling abroad and spending about 1million dollars a trip, which yields nothing is not luxury abi? U r not smart at all.

besides, the foremost reason why the parents are now despondent is due to the seldom nature of dollar. They are now impeded from procuring sufficient quantum to dispatch to their kids.
so how is your averment analogous to this premise?

Please, repeal this ludicrous motive of vindicating national adversities and ensure to propose sagacious panacea to curb it!

Dollar plenty for Shitta!!!

I knew it was only a matter of time before this scam'll be blocked.

These so called "parents" pay multiple school fees at "bank rate" by mistake and

contact the schools to reverse the transaction of the excess back into their accounts which they now go ahead to sell at

black market rate.

That was actually the beginning of my grouse with BAT & OBJ. angry

I sponsored a candidate back then when the looter created additional LG in LAG., and OBJ as the president request PDP members not to participate in the vote as he would cancel the LG election, we boycotted the election as advised, all the spends became a waste and OBJ could not stop the fruadulent additional LG BAT created before finally converting same to LCDA. Thanks to Pastor Prof. Osinbajo. (The pastor behind the professional looter, offering professional legal service to the crook).

And what we see thereafter was the handpicking of candidates from his bedroom in Bourdillon without recourse to due process and democratic principles. angry

Imagine, the imperial capitalist is now the biggest landlord in Africa at the expense of the people.

How is this a luxury? How? It's like comparing education to champagne consumption...the latter is the luxury....a parent would work his bottom off to give his child the best most quality education available and you will come here to pronounce it as luxury....you reek of ignorance

modath:

Why on earth are they crying for heavens sake!! schooling abroad is a "Luxury", it is not a Basic need!! undecided .... The country is barely able to give oil importers & manufacturers the Forex they need, where on earth will the one for "Luxury" items come from....

It's not easy for the parent but the country is in a dire straits & their wards problems are the least of the present worries!
