This faithful Rabbinic Old Testament, used for the King James Bible, was rejected by the NKJV committee in favor of a Vatican-published text. But it still takes a careful eye (and a parallel Bible) to spot the differences. New Testament God preserved the words of the New Testament by His faithful Christian disciples, from Antioch of Syria (Acts 11:26) to the Vaudois people of the French Alps about AD 120. From the 150s on they passed this Old Latin Bible (called "Common Bible" or "Vulgate"  throughout Europe and the British Isles. The Vaudois people were regarded by the Protestants and Baptists as "pre-Reformers," passing down the gospel message till the Reformation of the 1500s. facheux:Compare translations, and delve into d original atimes. All translation has its own problems. However, since the author of the bible have the intent to sanctify His name and vindicate His sovereignty, a translation that honors that name is good. Thats why I use the New World Translation. ^^^ How does the nwt bible using the German translation of God's name, honour His name? Jehovah is not what God said to Moses, who probably spoke a mixture of Hebrew and Aramaic. God's name is not known for certain, that's why many Bibles give His name as LORD in all capitals, which is what His name means, and which does honour His name. Trouble with the nwt bible facheux is that it was written by the sectarian watch tower org- the so called Jehovah's witnesses, they don't believe Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, they don't believe that Jesus was physically resurrected, etc. |
