In other news, 4 ships from Sub-Saharan Africa represented Africa at the IFR in India.

- NNS Centenary

- NNS Spioenkop

- SCGS Topaz

- MCGS Barracuda

*Unfortunately photos of the African participants are hard to come by.

NNS Centenary fresh up the IFR voyage was involved in a bust of a hijacked Ship in the waters of Sao-Tome & Principe. The Ship was hijacked off the coast of Ivory-Coast.

The Algerian Navy is impressive. What percentage of equipment deployed is made in Algeria?

actually the equipement made by algeria and in service is :
03 Djebel Chenoua-class corvettes , (351/352/353)
01 Hassan Barbia Class corvette (807)
12 patrollers el kebir class ( 37 metre ) (341/ 342 ect.......)
and many other small patrollers, Tugboat .....

but compared to other equipment of the Algerian navy ( fregate class koni / meko , corvette class nanushka, c28a , submarines , patrollers , LPD ect ...... ) this is not very important . most important Shipbuilding and repair compagny of mers el kebir Oran can repair and upgrade all algerian navy equipement even the submarines and other sophisticated equipment

patrollers el kebir class

Djebel Chenoua-class corvettes

Okay, now we see Algeria has one of the biggest defence industries in Africa, just that you have been silent as a country, people outside dont know you build warships.

Can you get photo of Algerian S-300 SAM ? Then where do you get money to buy all these expensive weapons, does Algeria not spend on other things with your big population? Where's all these money coming from? Is this an Algerian Su-30 photo below ?

Most people don't know you build Corvettes, i for example thought you imported everything. Your Defence industry is large, at-least by African standards.

South African Captain of the ship Safmarine Kuramo, Captain Zetta Gous-Conradie, described the experience as horrific, as she hailed the Nigerian Navy for its prompt response to her distress call. She is seen in the photo below saying thank you to the Nigerian navy officers of Eastern Naval Command handing over her ship back to her after the high tempo rescue operation.

for population algeria have 39 millions population , why algeria spend a lot after 2002 in weapons because we were under embargo from 1991 to 2002 with huge terrorist problem weapons were outdatted it was urgent to replace the equipments , and many enemies and big powerful military countries around in this strategic region, add to this algeria is 2.381741 km² with large desertic zone and 6 343 km borders with some problems with morocco drugs trafic and the western sahara problem , touareg rebellion and terrorism in mali , niger and the war in libya , also tunisia start to have terrorist actif groups and still in algeria some active small groups of terrorists all this with NATO and europe in front of us in the Mediterranean Sea , so it's not easy .. but the military budget représent only 5% of the GDP .

for the algerian developpement you can go in algerian forum or skyscrapercity to see with your own eyes the algerian infrastructures and algerians towns ( university, school, hospital, transport metro tramway train road highways aerport water electricty internet ect...i will never can write all what have been build this 10 - 15 past years .) ,also we went from 45 billion external debt to zero with 210 billion reserve .

for the pic yes it's an algerian sukhoi 30 MKA, i think only algeria use the registration number KF for it's sukhoi 30 and we can see the families of Russian technicians who work and visit Algeria. the same un hangar is in this pic

the supply of Su- 32 may already be in 2017
along withwith the delivery of the first combat vehicle in 2020 .

24 Units of JF-17,
8 Units of SU-34,
24 Units of Yak-130/L-15, in my opinion, this should do nicely for the NAF

Agaugust, as usual was advocating for an Air Superiority fighter. I said, we've never had a requirement for an Air Superiority fighter, and seeing that the Air Force has a confirmed order for the JF-17, it is unlikely that we where going to get an SU-30.

Since we lost use of our Jaguars, we lost our long range bomber capability, i was of the opinion that if the Air Force was ever going Russian, it would be the SU-34 bomber, not the SU-30 the Air Force would choose.

So, with this news, he lost!

Your source weblink clearly says with it's own spirit of honesty and uncertainty :

Expressed INTEREST.

This purchase is LIKELY.

Contract MAYBE signed 2017.

When did INTEREST, LIKELY, and MAYBE become a valid purchase order for $55 million Su-34 that has not even been evaluated by NAF ? The Su-30MK2 that was evaluated was evaluated SEVERAL TIMES from 2012-2015 because of same interest, yet it was never purchased.

Your one sided Russian news source is as good as Defenceweb saying Nigeria is interested in Rooivalk, yet no single comment to back it up from NAF, MoD, or FG.....and also no comment from Russian government or Sukhoi manufacturer. Henry, that is a reliable news and confirmed purchase, abi? Same way an American newspaper reported last year 2015 immediately after Buhari's meeting with Obama to present Nigeria's list of needed weapons, that Nigeria has signed contract for purchase of 8 Apache helicopters for $500 million. You see any NAF Apache anywhere one year after? Here is the source :
