Didn't our president know about the dwindling prices of crude before campaigning? He ought to have had a solution before making promises of change or was he just telling lieshuh
He has a solution and his government is working on it. It is a long term plan. You can not fix a massive rot in the economy with dwindling Oil prices in few months.

It is absurd suggesting to feel change in a short moment. I even expect it to get worst than this before it gets better.

That does not change the fact that it takes time to see a change. The Okonjo Iweala people are celebrating passed budgets like these and few talked. Yet people are castigating Buhari and hailing NOI.

Femi Aribisala is an old foool.

If not, how does a sane man canvass for the return of a finance minister who failed woefully in managing bounty harvest to come and mange austere period?

The overhyped economist who couldn't diversify the economy during surplus earnings is the person the lunatic Aribisala is asking us to bring back!

And talking about the revelations in the budget, it is actually a credit to Buhari that we're getting to know the existence of bloated figures contained therein. In the past, the presidency would have done a deal with the NASS such that the budget is not fully discussed to reveal those padding before it's passed. But because we have a president who will not do a deal to shortchange Nigeria, we're able to know how the budget cabals have been stealing us blind.

Yes, the presidency made some mistakes by not being very deligent with the budget, but the fact that heads have rolled and more will still roll for the budget padding is a testament to the president's readiness to take actions to correct mistakes.

To hell with Femi Aribisala and his unpatriotic cohorts.
how did she fail to manage this bounty harvest you talked about?

Why do you slowpoke.s bring tribe to the slightest disagreement and discourse? So petty and pathetic folks. This issue is a collective one affecting all. Why can't we just have a sensible and clean plate conversation?
Onyiridike:
Sorry!! You are wailing more than him and you also sound pained.

You are not wiser and more intelligent than Femi.

Of course, tribalism will not allow you to see beyond your nose.

Aribisala or whatever his name is, is a bad journalist; the worst I've seen in the recent past. He is not just a disgrace to the profession but a callous writer who only believes that good journalism is all about airing one's opinion only when your palm has been greased.

If she like let her have 20 international appointments, it doesn't change the fact that she failed in managing our economy during oil windfall.
What did she and the fg leave behind in the SWF?

What did the FG do with her own share (55%) of the ECA that was shared?
Were the governors wrong to ask for the money to be shared when each time they got to meeting they discovered that the account had been depleted without their knowledge and approval?

Despite selling crude above average of $100 a barrel, Ngozi and GEJ had to resort to borrowing to pay FG workers salaries in March and April 2015, yet you think she was the best thing to happen to Nigeria since independence?

Abeg, swerve.
GUY/ BABE..TALK WITH SENSE NAA.. NO BE TODAY CRUDE OIL PRICE FALL.. ITS BIN FALLING FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS .. AND FOR SOME REASON THE DOLLAR NEVER WENT BERSECK AGAINST THE NAIRA.. FEMI ruffles feathers again. See them using uncut words for him.

Some persons would rather die than tell themselves the truth. Even Buhari himself knows that something is wrong with the economy. that's why he is running up and down for a way out. Yet some cretins are allover the place playing the ostrich.

no you are the fool here, how can you accused iwela for not diversified Nigeria economy, but you failed to recognized her professional advised for Nigeria to be saving their excess reserves for difficult days like this? it is your APC illiterate governors "Amechi, Oshemole and co." that kicked against it.they went as far as to sue her in order to get what they want, you and your fellow APC blind supporters threw your weight in support of them. a nonsense remain nonsense even though a group of professors proved otherwise. your argument remains nonsense.

The page is too long read, esp for those who already graduated, at least to summarise it. By the way, I don't think the erstwhile minister of finance is the only one economist elite we have in the whole nation if you wantto counsel the current government to do sth in this dep't, besides just be patient and see APC's 4 yrs administration to see their kind of change, as we saw the 16yrs rubbish of her arch-rival PDP.

. There's really nothin wrong in sharing our the ECA, but our experience 2day is as a result of that singular action. Despite the sharing most states are still finding it difficult to pay salaries, thats why the FG, resorted to bail them out. The states should also be made to account for ever koko they got from ECA.

Nigerians were scammed with Okonjo ' s World Bank resume. Just like CHUKWUMA SOLUDO said "She was a secretary for the world Bank and not an economist. It's like saying that the head of Customer service of a bank is a Banker. Not all Bank employees are automatically called Bankers. The result of it is how she mismanaged our economy. If we can only remove tribalism from our psyche, then we will see how she obviously failed. Kemi Adeosun will be judged after her tenure.

Many thought that with Buhari, there would not be credibility challenges ,but all we hear is only Arms deal looted by PDP,and even when an APC members, who coincidentally a Buhari right hand man,it was swept under carpet,Osun Governor can`t civil servant for 9 months now,no wahala, they tried tooth and nail to re run Rivers,Akwa Ibom,Bayelsa,Delta, elections, while the log of fraud in Katsina,Kano,Jigawa and Kaduna ,never got mentioned after the initial video footage s of mass thumb printing in this states. Now Budget version (3) three just in one year,2016.western world expert rejected Kemi Adeosun as having a very lean CV as a country Finance Minister.Nigerians demand good government and not hypocrisy and greed again.

What you are not understanding is Okonjo Iweala and the economic team may not have been perfect but they were taking serious measures to prevent our economy from slipping into possible recession as we have now. Is it a coincidence that our economy has worsened under Buhari? Why wasn't the economy this bad under GEJ? THEY WERE TAKING MEASURES!THEY HAD STRONG ECONOMIC TEAM. TO THE CONTRARY, IT TOOK BUHARI 6 MONTHS TO ASSEMBLE A CABINET AND TO THIS DAY HAS NO ECONOMIC TEAM. SO STOP BLAMNG GEJ AND IWEALA.
Whats this one saying?

I think just like Boko haram, we are beginning to play politics with the present economic crisis at hand. I think the ruling party and those who actually know the true state of things understand the game PDP, their fans and apologists like Aribisala is playing. This is why they will continue to be ignored in the scheme of things. PDP is still nursing the pains of defeat.

I had expected Femi to write an article about the new PDP chairman as he has been canvassing for a strong opposition and accusing PMB and APC of trying to kill the opposition. I even expect Femi to accuse PMB of imposing sheriff on PDP grin

From Femi's articles, one can see bitterness which may never be cured, as per the economy another major point people fail to realize is that non-Government expenditure is another reason for the current situation, when Govt starts spending after the approval of the 2016 budget, things will generally improve, those wishing and prophesying doom and asking us to beg NOI are our Nigeria's greatest enemies at this time

Didn't you read when the poster said that the finance minister wanted to do away with subsidy and open an ECA ? Can't you remember the protest against the government in 2011/2012 ? Just think how much we would have saved if the government removed subsidy. And another problem was that the greedy state governors shared the ECA. Well, the presidency is in the best position to handle this.

because she ddnt study in Harvard University? Or because she caused oil price fall? Or because she depleted our foreign reserve to the extent we couldn't defend the naira any longer? Or because there isn't any infrastructure on ground to diversify the economy with? Or because her 9 months tenure is longer than NOI Combined 7 years tenure? Or because she is not igbo? Or because she isn't working with your hero? WHAT EXACTLY IS HER INCOMPETENCE? Pls enlighten me!!!
