Op i totally agree with you the same way don jazzy wants to kill dija's sound wtf is take kiss. Tiwa and Dija are strong on vocals but don jazzy is only interested in pangolo music.

hw many singles did she do b4 mavin? hope u hav a larger sample size than the 2 u mentioned cos it isn't enof 2 determine "original sound" besides a lot of people like d 'pangolo music' anyhw so there is no incentive 2 deviate from it.

Tiwa had an Album before signing for Mavins,RED is her second album....
The OP is too harsh on Tiwa though

She should shine her eyes n learn from Wizkid and Skales.

That somebody help you to the top does not make him your god because God just used that person.

Learn to take a bow when the ovation is loudest. Infact, Tiwa is just a pinch of Mavins, she will discover her talent wheen she starts being her own boss

The thing is Don Jazzy knows what sells more in the Nigerian market and experiments with his artists in a bid to make the most profit imaginable.
Yes, Tiwa's old songs and sound were better but her new sound may sell more because the majority of the Nigerian audience who consume music are stark and semi-illiterates.

Because you and some other people dont like 'pangolo' music doesnt mean its not good

Btw, R&B music makes me sleep, not that its not good. Everyone has his/her own music taste
Standing ovation was one of my best songs of the last quater of 2015. I am still rocking it presently

the big question the op refuses to answer is.....Leave MAVINS to where? the truth is that in Nigeria trash music sells more, that is why a Lil kesh will have more fan base than a Timi Dakolo. so if Tiwa is not complaining then dont drink panadol for her headache
what you see as 'trash' is what a lot of people enjoy

Even if you do not like lil kesh. U av no right to call his music trash. The fact that he has a large fan base means he is accepted generally.that means the significant amount of people like his music

Have you asked yourself why Adele song is the most downloaded song, is because of her vocal dexterity, not auto tune tiwa. TIWA IS EVEN WACK WHERE YEMI ALADE DEY.

YEMI HAS A VERY GOOD SONG IN FRENCH AND SWAHILI LANGUAGE . TIWA NA TINTINKANKAN MUSICIAN. Tiwa should vacate the music stage, let her go and pound fufu for tbilliz. YEMI TI TAKE OVER. YEMI IS WELL KNOWN IN AFRICA , UNLIKE TIWA THAT HAS NEVER EVER SOLD OUT ANY CONCERT.
. This is pure spite as there I no other meaningful reason for this your post

What is five years? Say fifty (50) years.
the reason why 50 year old American songs still makes sense is because their level of technology allowed them to record songs. And there were a few number of musicians then

Tiwa Savage is one of the Nigerian songstresses that brought the DIVA PERSONAE into the music industry. I love Tiwa and her debut singles KELE KELE LOVE & LOVE ME LOVE ME are my most favorite songs of hers.

Immediately Don Jazzy signed her and brought her to Mavin, her sound changed. Starting with EMINADO, the song became a cross-over hit across Africa but the TIWA SAVAGE SOUND got lost and in its stead came the NIGERIAN PANGOLO SOUND, all thanks to Don Jazzy. Don Jazzy spoilt her CONTEMPORARY AFRICAN URBAN SOUND.

Her new album RED produced by Don Jazzy was WACK, save for a few songs. AFRICAN WAIST ft Don Jazzy was pushed into the market but It didn't do well. Although i love the video and also the ELECTRO-POP-DANCE sound of the music, Tiwa did well on that song. They quickly started pushing STANDING OVATION ft Olamide which to me, is a song that is 50 SHADES OF WACKNESS!!! Come on, this is not Tiwa's kind of music. Why are they now pushing her to sound ghetto? The song and the video are not hits, but i found out its climbing Nigerian Radio / TV charts all thanks to Don Jazzy's PAYOLA to Radio / TV OAPs. Well.... Seyi Shay will benefit more from all these.

Will you give her food ?

You wan turn her into Azadus, blackface or modenine.

If she wants her original sound, she can complain to her producer..

You should listen to "Make up", that song made me her fan. She has regressed real bad.

I have all her songs before she returned to Nigeria. She belongs to the Beyoncé slash Riri's class.
