All my life as a Nigerian I have never seen or heard about any female that attained the rank of a general, be it major general or lieutenant general.

I'm aware that there are many women in the force but have never heard about any female general. Is there a Nigerian law against women reaching that rank or is the usual glass ceiling in play? Does anyone know any female general or even colonel?

You are absolutely spot on OP. I've never seen or heard about a female general too. It's so unfortunate. Maybe they're not good enough to meet the requirements necessary to attain the rank. Those who disagree should please post pictures if any.

Absolutely true. Not even a female colonel.

During the military Era there was no single female military administrator/governor. Which shows there's no high ranking female in the army.

Because most of them are teachers in military and command schools or admin staff.
This is a deliberate decision in the military. Women are not sent to the field unless they wish.

There are some female Generals anyway.

It is a man's world. Certain jobs are just more suitable for men. We are in a patriarchal society, men dominate almost everything.

is there anything like lieutenant general in Nigeria. What I know is: stating from Major, lieutenant colonel,colonel,brigadier general,Major general,general, field marshall(which we do not have in Nigeria).

Several of them serving as senior officers, and few have made Generalship. Maj Gen Ronke Kale made general over 15 years ago.

There is another Brig Gen Cecilia Akagu who's presently in service.

So many of them have attained Colonel position or equivalent in sister arms.
