All my life as a Nigerian I have never seen or heard about any female that attained the rank of a general, be it major general or lieutenant general.

I'm aware that there are many women in the force but have never heard about any female general. Is there a Nigerian law against women reaching that rank or is the usual glass ceiling in play? Does anyone know any female general or even colonel?

The current corps commandant of medical corps is a woman and a Major General.

Op, here's one for you. Major-General Ronke Kale (rtd)

Kudos to you! I celebrate you for bringing this to the fore. Not encouraging how so much the typical Nigerian does not know about our country! Were the talk about offshore football ⚽ clubs, lewd lyricists and get-rich-quick schemes you can be sure most would be spot-on! embarassed Really about time compulsory military service is given serious consideration in Nigeria!

I know a retired female Colonel in Festac
manitobor:
Absolutely true. Not even a female colonel.

During the military Era there was no single female military administrator/governor. Which shows there's no high ranking female in the army.

We have Major General Tilewa Amusu. A fantastic senior officer, still in active service in the medical corps.

Have you ever heard of Major General Kale? Information is power, so keep quiet. There are about other 2 females that I know.

Do you know what it means to be a General?

How many female Generals can you point to in the US army or in any army in the world?

Its not as if there is a glass ceiling. Nature so has it that no matter how hard a woman tries, there are certain things that are attainable simply because its not in a woman.

Answer this? Can a woman take decisions that would likely end in the destruction of lives including that of women and children? Being a General is not just an office. Its an office that takes guts, stone cold ironlike guts. Will a woman be able to take a decision to send her troops into battle with the ever present though that each battle could be their last and that their deaths would be as a result of her decision?

Crap. There are female generals. And yes to all your questions above.

The only way to being a General is by passing through the NDA. For a long time until 2011, no provision was made for female enrollment. So, in a few years time, female graduands from 2011 will become Generals.
