a v.o that has interviewed you before cannot interview you again, he usually will hand you over to another v.o, and your case cannot be an exception cc Lagosniv, because I witnessed it at the embassy and i've read it here and the other thread.

But lastly, he asked me if i had for once entered for US VISA LOTTERY before which i answered YES. He asked when i answered DV 2012.

And the VO REJECTED OUR VISA without any explanation.

(NOTE:
I entered DV 2012, I was a Lucky winner, but later they said there is a COMPUTER GLITCH which VOIDED the DV 2012 result that time
and when the re-selection was done i wasnt among the lucky ones)

Please what can be the problem is it that I was wrong to enter DV 2012.

Moving on, no 2. Visa lottery is Not a barrier to getting B visa. Everybody or almost everybody applied at a point.
Finally, nobody can tell u why a vo denied. U the visa without looking at his notes. So u should look inward, evaluate your application objectively nd see if u can deduce why u were not considered eligible

well i did my assignment well b4 i left, i have travel history, verifiable bank account, letter from employer, my ppty letter - landed ppty etc and all documents i could think of, but he dint ask for any of the documents.

I dont know whar really happened.

just 3 questions
(1) marriage date
(2) travel history : UAE 5 years ago, Ghana - 1 year ago (he even said OK after mentioning these 2 places)
(3) Did u eve entered for DV lottery and i said YES, he said what year and i told him DV2012, he said ok.

To be very sincere with you the VO used that DV-Lottery question to know if you once nurtured an immigrant intent because he/she somewhat found out your ties as established wasn't strong but you looked good to get it. but as soon as he got wind of your past Immigrant intent which was not too long ago "2012" he/she had no choice than to refuse your application. Just my personal view tho....

This question was the last question the VO asked me when i interviewed... I had not participated in DV Lottery's and so i said NO and hence she approved afterwards.

NOTE: Participating in past DV Lottery(s) does not mean you don't qualify for a non-immigrant visa but your ties to your homeland. if your ties aren't strong and you have been seen to have once nurtured an Immigrant intent then you MIGHT be refused.

The VO's generally believe all of these ties could be faked and fabricated... be it land, building, job and so on.
I'm not in a position to better ascertain what your tie was or the defect the VO saw but I'm very sure your ties were not well represented by you.

To better help you, search specifically for the part 1 of this thread read it all from post 1 to 360 sumtin where it ended i can bet you'll find all your answers therein.

Thanks I think we can all learn from this. why waiting for my turn two guys were denied. the simple but complex question was what has changed in your situation? they were naive to say nothing has changed and they were denied again.

in my case I did not change anything nor add anything but I got an idea .

was asked what has changed this was my reply : january was my first time here. that made me
very anxious and excited, hence I could not express myself properly but I am very relaxed now and can answer your questions properly.



Did not wait for the next question I quickly analysed my tiers .which I know is very strong .

after my speech, was asked about the conference and a gave another long speech I even mentioned the names and profile of the speakers . bla bla bla like that.

It's very easy, if you applied then your answer is yes. If you didn't, then your answer is no.

Your visa may have been refused for a completely unrelated matter.

@Chloe7, will like to quickly use this opportunity to say I never participated in the lottery stuff in all the years before I applied for a US visa, but I did apply for it once after my first US visa and that didn't work against me during my renewals though. Good afternoon Sis

Good question @OmoBendel24... Sincerely i just did not want to contest the position with @LagosNIV, someone i met at the embassy after my interview was asked that same question tho the person said NO, but in reality did apply for DV-Lottery in time past and was granted (Though, i told him it was wrong to lie to get a Visa).

However, this strengthened my personal opinion that the question was used as a decoy to know if an applicant had once nurtured an immigrant intent BUT if such applicant have a STRONG tie back home would be approved on that basis, and if he/she was in a 50/50 position in the calculation of the VO he/she could be disapproved.

Just my personal Opinion.
