there are also Epes in Osun and Ekiti states, possibly Oyo state too, look at those ones as well.

Epe in Osun and Ekiti states?

This is interesting.

As an Ondo person, why not tell us if there's any connection?

The Oba of Benin is general does not leave his palace, by tradition he has to live and die within the confines if his kingdom. There have been few occasions where the King has left the palace.

It is a serious form of bondage.

On another note I have been trying to find out about what caught my eye when viewing pictures from the new young king in Delta, I saw behind his throne an insignia which has strong corolations with Yoruba and Bini royal heritage and would usually be used to signify the source of the authority of a throne, the King had the "Ida" - sword as is often seen with the Ife kingdom, Bini kingdom and Eko kingdom in particular.

See it also at Idanre.

I guess he was alluding to the Epe in Ondo cos nobody annexed us. The undefeated Ijebus. cool

Shyte, just shout me when the war kicks off. As the Duke of Ijebuland, I shall send 200,000 Ijebu special forces with AK48 and Iskander missiles to annihilate whoever wants to desecrate the sacred city of Ife.

Lol. The Ooni is already hooked to some Bini cum bucket with that ol'good pum, while trying to make a who.re a housewife. And he has EFCC chasing him around. Things aren't looking too good for ya Ooni, after the initial hype. grin

shocked shocked

You dey plan turn Ife to Somali; war torn spot?

I respect his choice but picking a Bini lady really has me disappointed - the stool won't go back to Giesi not to mention Agbedegbe line in possibly 2 centuries so we won't have to bother over a Bini blooded prince ascending our throne. cool

LOL EFCC chasing an almost 'divine king' around. He should have just gone low profile after ascending the throne; obviously some folks who lost out won't be happy and have probably done their homework this time around considering the first allegation didn't stick.

If he gets convicted and sent to jail, Agbedegbede line may get banned for life like some royal lines.

ADA= Cutlass

There are dedicated Yoruba Chiefs that Carry the IDA(swords).

You should probably brush up on the role and status of Ijebu army through the many Yoruba wars, starting from the Owu war. Ijebu didn't fight wars to expand but it was a force undefeated in Yoruba land; a force recognized - the army saved Ife a number of times.

On Another Interesting note, here is the Oba of Usen in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo state. The town of Usen is close to Okada.
He is the Olu Awure of Usen (Elawure)

Honestly, Yoruboid speaking and Edoid speaking groups are divinely ordained siamese twins that can't be separated.

Fabu.

the Yoruba angle is that oduduwas grandson oramiyan went to Benin from oyo and became a leader. Perhaps they were without a king...he had a child with a Benin woman...eweka

The story continued that the Benin ppl chased oramiyan away while his son became king.

On getting back to oyo he called the land Ile ibinu which in yoruba means land of angry ppl

So oduduwa was not a son of a Benin king. He came from Egypt as espaced when Arabs where killing all the black ppl just like isis is doing in Syrian

He came from Egypt? So how come there is not a Single Egyptian Word in the Yoruba Syllabus, yet there are many similarity between Bini and Yoruba Language? The Oba of Binin who is also a Historian wrote a Book that documented his History with Landmarks as Solid proofs to Collaborate his Heritage... Lots of Learned Yoruba professors and Historians said the Oba's Book is the most accurate from all the different Versions.. As I have always told my Yoruba friend, "so you would rather have your History from The Arabs, than from your fellow Naija" and we laugh and Joke about this... Things to Ponder upon, 1. How easy is it to WALK from Egypt to Nigeria/Ife? 2. How easy is it to WALK from Benin to Ife? ...which makes more sense?. I love the new Ooni and am probably his biggest fan as I was blown away when I watched his interview, a True Progressive and Peace loving person and I think it was very wrong for the Alake to start this Rating Rubbish when he Knew how Sensitive it is... Like starting Trouble for the new Ooni... The Previous Ooni was not Happy with the Oba of Benin when his book came out! There was a lot of Heat between the two Kingdoms, now that the previous Ooni is passed and we have a New one, why on earth would anyone want to start another round of Trouble? Like saying the Oba of Benin does not know his History or wanting the Ooni to deny his Heritage. I saw all the Fight that went down on Facebook couple of weeks ago cos of this and I think it was very Mean of the Alake to start this, cos its a Never ending Story or Saga as both side believe they are right and it will remain so until the end of time. So what purpose can such a Topic serve other than Fight?

Humble Uncle wink wink

Being a prince by birth is different from being a Sooko.

Sookos are possible Ooni-elects with rights to the throne.

You do realize there are many Oba in Ife - Oba in Modewa ranks and Oba in Isooro ranks.

Should I then begin to call myself a 'Prince' because of my solid right to the throne of Obalesun/Oloja Iranje-Ideta?

I'm from the family of Osundeyi Gbadebo , Through Oshinkola of Akui. I may never be king going by this new rotation formula given our king Ojaja II would live long and by order Lafogido would have their turn.

I'll be old and most likely gone by then, but my male children would have every right to the throne of their fore fathers if they so choose

This is particularly Interesting, given the fact that it is coming from the King (Olu) a group (Itsekiris) that can be considered a neutral party between the Yorubas and the Binis.

Ase to our Ooni living long.

Oshinkola, ihan omo Lafogido - mo ki yin o.

If you're going tobe old or gone by the time Ojaja ba 'gbe ess' then you are actually an 'Uncle' like I previously said tongue.

If we are not going to use the rotation then Giesi has to be scrapped then Oshinkola and Ogboru will merge with Lafogido.

Then we'll have just one house, Lafogido Ruling House.

The many royal houses makes it difficult; Giesi really should be revisited.
