He was the secretary general of UEFA and so he was endorsed by majority of European FA's.This is not a states presidential election where you have to appeal for votes of all citizens but a votes from each countries FA among over 200 FIFA states. The campaign is more of lobbying and not posters littered everywhere and hence its a transparent election.
