It's very interesting how things turned out during Oliseh's short reign.

-14 games... 1 official loss. (2 losses overall if I add the DR congo game).
-Enyeama retired via Instagram. (I expect him to be back under the new coach if he's still wanted)
-Emenike retired via instagram.
-Oliseh released a you-tube rant.
-Oliseh apologises.
-Oliseh resigns via twitter although he's said to have addressed official letters to the NFF president, Gen.secretary and the 2 vice presidents.

**Short crazy tenure**

very crazy indeed, i tell u what Nigerian football would be a great reality tv show we might outrate the Kardashian's lol. The question now is where do we go from here? The NFF needs to pull a trick out their bags because this could spell doom. I just wonder out loud if Oliseh didn't chicken out because he feared what would happen if he lost to Egypt, or maybe he wants the NFF to beg him like they did Keshi. Speaking of Keshi At short notice he seems one of the best options.

Sunday Oliseh has resigned as the Head Coach of the Nigerian football national team, the Super Eagles, just over seven months after he was appointed.

Oliseh, who announced his resignation on Twitter, said he took the decision due to the inability of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to honour the terms of his contract.

“Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, assistant coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach,” he tweeted.

He thanked Nigerians for the opportunity of serving as the coach of the team in a preceding tweet before announcing his resignation.

“I feel fortunate, blessed and eternally grateful for having the honour to play, captain and coach this great nation of ours, Nigeria.”
Oliseh, whose appointment was made with much fanfare by the NFF, soon started having problems with the executives of the federation over remuneration, match tactics and results.

His complaint about being owed was not well received by the NFF, which rather threatened to sanction him.

He also had challenges managing the players. An altercation between the coach and the team’s former captain and the country’s most capped goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, led to the goalie’s premature resignation from the team last October.

Apparently, the last straw for Oliseh was the woeful outing of the Super Eagles at the CHAN competition in Rwanda, where the team were eliminated in the first round.

Following widespread criticisms that greeted the team’s elimination, a Youtube video soon surfaced in which Oliseh lambasted his critics, referring to them as “insane”.

On Thursday, the NFF directed Oliseh to henceforth report to former coach and the NFF’s technical director, Amodu Shuaibu.

​The NFF is yet to respond to his resignation.

Seven-time African champions Egypt are beatable because they are not as good as they were four years ago, according to former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh.


Oliseh quit as Eagles coach on Thursday after claiming several contractual breaches by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).


Nigeria will welcome the Pharaohs to Kaduna on March 25 in the first leg of an AFCON qualifying double header.


Oliseh quit a month to this all-important, but he has restated his belief Nigeria could triumph to get their AFCON qualifying campaign back on track.


“Egypt are not as good as they were four years ago, we can beat them,” he maintained on a radio interview Saturday morning.


He reserved his comments on the coaches who have been appointed to replace him ahead of the matches next month.


“It doesn’t matter who is there, what matters is that Nigeria advance,” he said when asked about the Samson Siasia-led coaching crew named to lead the Eagles against Egypt.

Interesting Stat about Siasia as current Interim head coach of the Super Eagles (and primarily, Head Coach of Nigeria's U-23 Dream Team Eagles)

-From his days as Flying Eagles Head coach from 2004-2005,

-to his days as U-23 Dream Team Head Coach from 2007-2008 (lost out on the AAG via away goals rule),

-to his days as Flying Eagles head coach to Egypt 2009 Fifa U-20 World cup (ladan bosso was in charge during that year's AYC),

-to his days as Super Eagles head coach from 2010-2011 (the 0-1 loss to Guinea in the Afcon qualifiers had Eguavoen in charge before Siasia took over),

-to his days as U-23 Dream Team Head Coach "AGAIN" from late 2014/early 2015 till today.



His only loss to African opposition: AT THE 2015 AAG Men's U-23 football semi-finals. A 1-3 loss to Burkina faso.

Question: Ahead of The Afcon double header, Could the Pharoahs be in for "Big trouble" coming up against a man/coach who seems to know how to get the better of African teams??

Could the legend of Amuneke as an ex-Zamalek star before he went on to excel in Europe for Sporting CP and FC Barcelona come back to haunt the Egyptians at this crucial time??

According to Ighalo as earlier interviewed, he seems to prefer Manchester United. I did love him to go to Arsenal where he will be fed with so many goal scoring chances. Arsenal love possession football with great killer passes. I think it will be a good move for Odion, if only he can prove himself.
Besides, a move to one of these will make him a good contender for the next CAF player of the year award which Nigerian players no longer smell.

I have very low expectation from Coach Samson Siasia, reason been that, the team needed more friendlies to gel as a team. Here is a man coming to contend with an opposition that has fully prepared for this encounter. Sincerely speaking I don't even know what to expect.

Argument transfered from d U23 thread: Rabiu Ibrahim vs Omatsone Aluko, Who is more suitable to play behind Ighalo? Or which other player is more suitable for d "number 10" role?

Rabiu Ibrahim for sure. He plays regularly on that wing for his club. Other players are Abdul Ajagun, John Chibuke and Raheem Lawal. Sone Aluko is a natural winger and that's all.

Abdul Ajagun, I can for now recommend for the U23. I cannot beat my chest for now to tell whether Ajagun is better than Iheanacho, Iwobi and Etebor. Let all 4 players go slug it out at the U23 camp. Raheem Lawal did nt impress under Keshi. He is nt a stand out player. I doubt he can deliver d goods. As for John Chibuike, i am nt in d habit of rating a player i dnt know so well. I have no bases to say whether he is better than Aluko or nt.

On Aluko only being a natural winger. Yes he is bt he also plays from d centre. In d last rnd of English FA cup matches u saw where he was slotted when he came in as a sub for Hull City against Arsenal? He went to play behind d main striker.
