The Jones hatred on this thread was magnified by Coogar the master salesman who was quite gifted at converting people into his own way of thinking. Exhibit A and B are the sudden upwelling of support for us to buy Otamendi and lacazette here.
Having said that Jones has not improved as I expected though
he only just clocked 24.
People argue that his development was stunted by the constant shunting around (rb to mf) when he was fit.
The injuries during lvg's time haven't helped either.

But I believe he still has a fair amount of time.
All he needs is an injury free period so he can have an extended run in the first team

Looking at the remaining fixtures, I don't think Leicester will win the league.
Its now or never for Tottenham... Godforbid Arsenal to win this league angry , after all the commotion we caused on their thread for beating them grin .... i imagine how leicester will fare in the UCL grin , esp. if they pair them with europe's big boys...

When we played Stoke in the return leg, we played West Ham, we played Southampton, we had to draft Fellaini to midfield to help our defence in aerial balls. If we had Jones partnering Smalling, that wouldn't have been necessary. Also, their quick feet is another big assets to them.
I agree with you, buh my problem is his incessant injuries on and off the field...
That's my point of him being unreliable!

Wayback in school, we call Jones "Iron Gate"... but what's the point of having an iron gate that will collapse at random periods in time?... it's a security hazard!! cheesy

I still suggest he should be given time off to overcome the lingering injuries and fitness, so that we might enjoy him! ...or sell him to Cardiff grin

Someone just said this on Arsenal thread -- If wenger was leading the israelites , they would have spent 40 yrs in the wilderness and still ended up in Egypt cheesy cheesy cheesy

My bad.. dude. only mentioned him b'cos majority of the spanish playmakers are good at freekicks you know smiley ... besides, when you're in a team that has MSN, there's no need in struggling to take a setpiece...
Even before MSN, the set piece takers were Messi, Xavi and Alves. Iniesta is not just interested in taking it and one can conclude he's not good at it.
Anyway, your point is well understood and you are pardoned since you're not a Barca fan. grin

forget what they're saying here. Depay did good, he wasn't excellent, but was good!

One thing i noticed about him, is his will to win. Apart from Mata, smalling and maybe Rooney, you'll never see that kinda quality from others.

I'd rather have Depay on the pitch than Lingard or Adnan.. Only a matter of time before he gets better.
Defraud was frustrating last night truth be told!

I just hope for him to start "Paying"

Not me. Go back to read.

I praised someone's writing style, then another poster said it wasn't the original work of the person I praised.

MARCUS RASHFORD WINS MANCHESTER UNITED’S PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY AFTER PLAYING JUST 170 MINUTES

I beg to differ
This is the new age. 90% brawn, 10% brain is of no use on a football pitch. Depay can come on in the eighties when we need to protect a goal lead and do that, maybe. I'll agree totally to that.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by parrotibaba(m): 5:58pm On Mar 03, 2016
A good albeit frustrating win, but much needed at this crucial stage of this harrowing season. We need to turn up the style this weekend at Albion to keep the top 4 push.

As for the Jones matter, he should be loaned to FC United of Manchester Middlesbrough asap!! angry

Nowadays We can't even go into a match with full confidence of winning or even playing well. All we want is the 3points especially at this crunch time in the season.

10 games to go, can we amass 20-25points?

That post you quoted was copied from another forum. Actually, it's a merge of two different posts from the same thread. Why do our people do this? So irritating.
It's done here quite often and if you haven't noticed yet, i have pasted several posts from monikers ( on this forum) without referencing anybody with no problems. I'm only obligated to a post a source if it's news for verification of it's authenticity and i think that's fair enough for those kind of materials. I do form my own opinions and see no issues with endorsement of other's opinions and/or through use of their posts but here it's obvious you are trying to make a case there where isn't and good luck with that.

I disagree. There were some matches Jones was even more composed than Smalling. Particularly when he first returned from injury, during that period we played Everton, CSKA, Man City, etc.

But on his second return from injury, he was sent straight into the team when he was not match fit, so he was heavy one the ball in the first match. Before we knew it he went on another injury. The third time, he was again at his peak, overlapping well before he got injured.

I think there is a wrong impression about Jones. It was actually caused by someone and everyone bought into it. Jones is very tidy in his passing.
You said "some matches he was more composed than Smalling", but that's the problem. Why can't he put in good defensive games for long spells like Smalling? Not being match fit and being too abrasive when fit is not a good trait for a defender. Jones is good but his injuries, and lack of application of football brain in some occasion is not something to be praised about. Good defenders out there have one thing in common - consistency. Jones lacks this, he comes good in 2 or 3 matches then goes back to putting in dumb tackles that can cause him injuries or getting injured for no reason. Look at Wilshere, a good player that can't stay injury free. He's more of a liability to Assnal. The only reason why Jones still has hope at Utd is coz of lack of better CB option. The moment we get a good CB like Ramos, Jones can kiss the CB dream goodbye.

Except that was no endorsement though. If I were to endorse your views, I'd also have to acknowledge you, the author. That's how it works.

This attempt to save face won't fool anyone here. Just don't do it again, for the sake of decency at least.

"I have read that Rashford is saving me. No, no,"

"Rashford has got his chance thanks to my policy, and the club's, of course.

"The same thing applies for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Guillermo Varela, and a lot of the other young players.

"That is why we didn't invest in January. Our policy is to have a small squad to allow space for young players."
