Christ fulfilled d law but after His death and resurrection, a new covenant is established and the old covenant(law) abolished.
So d law is abolished both tithes, burnt offerings, stoning of adulterers, cutting of beards etc. read romans 7 and 8 for more
You are on point that is very clear in the Gospel, In Hebrew, the old law which is the law of Aron is abolished for a new order of prieshood

Eat your tithe if you feel that your life depends on it. I detest when folks argue Scriptural principles by applying logic and reasoning. People will always postulate and explain why they are right to do or not to do certain things. Unfortunately Heaven doesn't employ the services of scholars like other religions to spread HIS Word, rather HE employs the least in the society.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE HAVE PASTORS LIKE REVEREND KING.
Because people should throw away their senses when it's a spiritual affair.
What a shame!

Yes I can pay tithe to the church, Yes I can use my tithe to help the needy... And again it's not by force. If I believe in tithing and choose to pay tithe because it works for me, and you choose not to because you don't believe in it.. So kini big deal?

You forget that Christianity no be by force.
YOU ASKED WHAT MY POINT IS?
EAT THIS!
Your pastor said not paying your tithe is a sin, and that's why you're paying.
The only way to give back to God is not by tithing.

Jesus is now the high priest and where there's a change in priesthood, there's equally a change in the law. The law of tithing passed away when the law of feeding the hungry, the poor, helping the needy, widows etc was established.

I don't serve a broke god that needs to invest 10% of my money in what I don't even know and then give me whatever he gains.

I serve a living God who meets all my needs according his riches in glory by Christ.
good point bro.......“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

First, Matthew 23:23 is not new testament. The new testament started after Christ ressurected from the dead. Maybe you never tought of that before you made your post.

And also important for you to know what tithing really is. This is Deutoronomy 14. See the instruction on tithing

22 “You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. 23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God.

24 “Now when the Lord your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe. 25 If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the Lord your God has chosen. 26 When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of food you want—cattle, sheep, goats, wine, or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the Lord your God and celebrate with your household. 27 And do not neglect the Levites in your town, for they will receive no allotment of land among you.

You're a superstar! Your understanding of this topic is impeccable. Your submissions is exactly what my argument to Christians have been over the years but they abuse me and see me as devil rather than see the scriptures I proffer. Pastors have told them that that those who don't pay will go to hell because they are robbers. Indoctrination is very bad indeed. It makes a fool out of even the educated. He sees the truth but wishes it were false and infact chooses falsehood to suit what he's been brainwashed to believe. The dangerous aspect of the tithe doctrine is in Galatians 3:10 which says that all who choose to live by the law are under the curse and recall that James 2:10 says that if you keep the whole law and offend in one point you are guilty of all. Therefore if you keep the Law on tithing and fail to keep sabbath and other 612 laws, you incur massive curses. Paul called those who sought to follow the Law foolish Galatians and referred to asking people to obey the Law bewitchment. Finally, Galatians 5:4 says that those who seek to be justified by the law are cut off from Christ and have fallen from grace.

Jesus supported tithing in new testament.

Matthew 25:31-46 destroyed all the arguments of Tithing. The only thing you will be asked on the judgment day if you appear in the right hand is “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ and if you appearinthe left hand side even with paying 10% monthly to your rich pastor, sorryooo "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’"

WELL, EVEN THOUGH I THOUGHT MY DIGNITY SHOULDN'T GO INTO REPLYING YOU, NOW LISTEN UP.
FIRST UNDERSTAND THAT TITHING ISN'T THE ONLY WAY ONE PLANTS.
LET'S ASSUME YOU'VE UNDERSTOOD THAT, UNDERSTAND ALSO THE PEOPLE THINK THAT GOD IS A SAVINGS ACCOUNT.
Do you think Bill Gates tithes?
You're even pathetic.
Seems reverend king is your pastor too.
God has established the principles of wealth.
If you wish just empty your account into your pastor's.
Your business though.
I give not by compulsion.
Giving isn't only when you give in the church.
But your pastors make you believe that if you give in the church you're giving to God directly.
If you give to the needy outside the church it goes to nothing.
Too many greedy people populating Christianity.

Even atheists get rich.
God does not bless people just because they give.
He's way too rich for that!

Jesus did not abolish the law (tithing).
He fulfilled it by, not just by giving a tenth of what he had, but by giving all he had - his life!
well, remember he asked the rich man to give away all he had and follow him. Riches mean nothing before God, he actually appreciates our worship n not material things. Tbh, it seems very clear that church offerings have placed pastors in the league of millionaire$. I wonder where they want to store such treasures. Jesus and his apostles and disciples neither paid taxes nor gained material wealth. As a matter of recognition, he said he had nowhere to lay his head. But, his works n that of his disciples pleased God. Churches don't teach the truth anymore, that's why most pastors cannot comment on issues like homosexuality and corruption.

This issue of tithe has been abused by 'greedy pastors' who cash in on its members' gullibility to fleece them dry.

If you hear how some churches hammer on the issue of tithe, you will think that it is the surest way of making heaven..

This article is very timely....kudos to the Author!!!
and the foolish robbed members will want to quote other scriptures in the bible to prov3 why they must pay! I will give to people who need it! Not enriching some pastor who drives in a big jeep while his members wallow in abject poverty!

The problem with bible interpretation is that you have to read it in context. If, for example, the bible says a bucket, you have to ask what a bucket was like when the scripture was written, not what a bucket is like today because it could be different. If it is different, the interpretation will be different.

Even the concept that the law has been abolished is not exactly correct. But I have avoided it not to derail this thread. That is not the basis for which tithing is wrong today. The biggest problem with today's tithing is the motive. Even if we agree we should tithe, then we will need to do it exactly how the bible says and that means I will have to eat my tithe and share it with the orphans, widows, strangers and people who serve in God's work that dont earn a living. That is the bible way to tithe. Anything else is just someone trying to collect money from people

Because something was not mentioned in the New testament does not makes it absurd or abolished. In case you have forgotten, Jesus Christ emphatically said he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfil it. New or old testament, it's the same God. In fact, you might not have noticed, God in return, bless people more when they pay their tithes sincerely - it's a divine assurance! (10% or 100%, everything belongs to God)
If Jesus did not come to abolish the law but uphold it, then the animal-sacrificing Christians will also be justified after all it was ordained of God in the new testament. A Christian friend once told me that he didn't believe in tithing and I (then) wondered what kind of Christian he's. But over the years, I've searched the scripture to really find out whether tithing is mandatory and I've come to realize that there's no where in the teaching of grace which Jesus brought in the gospel, and was propagated by the apostles in the epistles that tithing is mandatory. HOWEVER, I believe the love of Christ in me as a Christian could even propel me to give more than 10%, if I'm so led and blessed. I Cor. 16:2 says it all about Christian giving in the new testament age.
