This is very very sad for us. The man is a member of my church...Foundation Faith Church, Utako Central, Abuja. That is the parish were the founder, Archbishop Sam Amaga preaches. This man take certain responsibilities in the church which sometimes brings him to the pulpit. His daughter who just graduated is a gospel singer. The man is a devout christian and a steadfast believer. I wonder why he ended like this. I can remember the last service I saw him in attendance. He usually sat in the front row

This is tragic.

A full investigation must be conducted to rule out foul play.

Highly suspicious that only fatalities are the minister of state and all members of his family in the vehicle.

Also interesting that this is occuring as the ministry is looking into some questionable employment practices of some multinational companies.

Questions bordering safety:

1. Were they over-speeding? The level of damage to the car body suggests so.

2. Was everyone in the car strapped on with seat belts? This restrains the body from haphazard movements in the case of a somersault.

3. Did the tire really explode? If so, was it punctured and by what? Was it over-inflated and heated up due to high road temperatures and speeding? If so, did the tyre pressure sensor warn the driver? How did the FRSC come to the conclusion that it was a tyre exposion that made the car somersault?

May they rest in peace and may God grant their friends and relatives fortitude.

The reason is seat belts. The driver and orderly were most likely wearing seat belts. The minister, wife and son would have been tossed about in the SUV as it rolled.

The FRSC spokesman may be part of of conspiracy even El Rufai may be involved.

While not being insensitive to the issue at hand, I think this your questions will make a good research in mathematics, engineering, computer science or in the field of transportation management. I'm more interested in the mathematical modelling of how 6people were seated in car that was involved in an accident and only three die.

This are the type of reconstruction you watch in discovery channel and they solve the puzzle. Hope the FRSC will get to that sophistication one day.

Why post someone's picture without his consent, that is so so wrong.. You can correct him without doing that, what if he goes ahead to retaliate in manner you can't bear yourself

Seat belt made the difference

Talking about seat belt, I've observed that it's only the front seats passengers, i.e. the driver and the person next to him that usually use the seat belt. Hardly would you see others use it. Even the FRSC hardly enforces this aspect of road safety. And that perhaps explained why the driver, orderly, who apparently was occupying the front seat, survived the accident.

Hmm. If the Driver and the orderly are just injured, it becomes obvious that they're the only ones in use of a seat belt because they are seated in front. Those that died are obvious are obviously not putting there seat belt to use. Lesson learnt, level of importance of the use of set belt is equal to all occupants of a vehicle, be it you are seated at the back or front.
