Think this is a good question but you really need to ask why if you think they performed better.
Besides how about the elements they are fighting what is their status as at the time Buhari assumes Offices and their level of motivation. Hope not forgotten they earlier recommended the same Buhari to be their representative in an earlier proposed negotiation with the then GEJ government.
