wao!!! Am sure your comment was moved by hate and hence bereft of common sense. The act may have taken place April 2015 but the matter before the court was well after the incidence occured which was after PMB was sworn in So anyone will be right to ascribe the failure of the DSS to put up an appearance in court to the current govt stance of flouting court orders.
Then following your argument, we should also ascribe the initial violence committed to the person of Goodluck Jonathan as his regime was famed for bullying and beating the masses. Afterall, this is not the first case of security personel brutality on citizens!

What is your point now? I belong to the truth and not any political party or individual because I pay my bills myself and not APC, PDP, GEJ or PMB. You better change your orientation about supporting these evil people called politicians or occultism called political parties.

An Anambra State High Court presided over by Justice R.O Onunkwo on Thursday gave four officials of the Department of State Services in the state who were involved in a battery matter two months to appear before it or risk being sentenced in absentia.

The court order was coming following repeated absence of the DSS operatives in court on the issue.

Onunkwo said after the two-month grace, the security operatives would lose their rights of defence, adding that he would be left with no other option but to enter judgement in default against them.

The DSS officials had in April 2015 allegedly brutalised a businessman in the state, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Nwokoye, and his wife, Jessie.

The court therefore ordered hearing notice on the DSS personnel for March 15, April 5th and 20th, as well as May 17th, 19th , 24th and 26th.

Justice Onukwe, said on the March 15 hearing, the DSS would be expected to cross examine the witness who gave his evidence-in-chief on the March 10 sitting.

The court had on 7 March summoned the DSS to appear before it on March 10, which the security outfit did not honour.

When the matter came up on Monday March 7, the counsel to the DSS, Mr. S.T. Oneh, had announced his discontinuance with the matter.

He said, “I used to appear for the respondents (DSS) in this matter. But the respondents have disengaged my professional service. I hereby notify the court that I no longer represent them.”

Oneh, who tendered a letter disengaging his services by the DSS to the court, argued that he would not want to force himself on his former clients.

But in the resumed hearing on Thursday, the DSS did not put up any appearance, a situation that caused the judge to give a leave of the court to the applicant’s lawyer, Prof Ilochi Okafor, SAN, to proceed with his motion to continue with the case in the absence of DSS.

Nwokoye and his wife were allegedly brutalised by the men of the DSS in the state where Nwokoye’s sight was affected.

Nwokoye, who narrated his ordeal in the hands of the DSS operatives, said, “I was handcuffed with my wife like common criminals.

“I have never seen such a thing all my life. The retina of my eyes has been damaged. I was humiliated for no offence committed.”

He alleged that he was brutalised because he refused to release information about 22 expatriate medical doctors invited by the Anambra State Government for free medical mission in the state, who were accommodated in his hotel.

It will be recalled that Nwokoye had dragged the DSS to court for allegedly infringing on his fundamental rights.

Nigeria is still a banana republic!!!

Security outfits still disobey court orders.

Soldiers and police do not know their line of set up!

Democracy is still a foreign concept in Nigeria.

You lack understanding. They committed the offence in April 2015, but were invited to court on the 10th of this month which they flagrantly refused to honour.
Flagrant disobey of court orders started in this administration, and that's why the accused DSS operatives had the boldness to refuse honouring the invitation.

u should be the one asking for refund, because comprehension is ur problem. incident happened during the last administration, a case went on and on and under this administration they refused to appear before a court, are u still blaming the past administration for the dictatorial style of the new DSS under buhari, its obvious u didn't read the part where the it was said that he was manhandled because of Hus refusal to give the DSS information about the foreign doctors invited by the state govt, that was probably under the last admin too. u better learn to read, don't pay me for this lecture.

Does behaving like touts not imply beating up someone for no justifiable reason? Did d said incident happen under PMB's regime? Are Naija security operatives not known for abusing power?

Oh I forget! They were all cuddly angels who wiped tears from our eyes and baked cakes for civilians before PMB's regime.

Did u read in d news that PMB ordered them to beat up d man and not show up in court to face judgment? At least they were charged to court and summoned, is that not a good development on its own?

Since u're quick to attack PMB cos of d misdeeds of security operatives, how many times have u come on NL to shower praises on him when d same operatives do sth laudable?

Talking about courts rising up to face PMB's "tyranny", oga just shut up u no get talk. U're just a pained jobless hater

I don't have Alzheimers disease (God forbid!), and I will never have it, even if I live for 100 years. Maybe I was born in May 2015.
Could you please do me a favour, and provide me with links where previous administrations flagrantly flouted court orders like this administration is doing.
Thank you.

PS: I found your words offensive especially for insinuating that I possibly had Alzheimers. That was quite rude.
My statement that disobey of court orders started in this administration might have been taken overboard, but the truth is that it's worse now than in the last administration. But despite that, your use of words was very wrong. I respectfully answered your question by pointing out in the article where they disobeyed Court orders. If you know the gravity of Alzheimers, you won't wish or suggest it on people like this.

Very well, we've got that one clear. U don't have alzheimers, so why will u claim disobedience of court orders started in this admin. Perhaps u're biased and not being objective?

Kennydoc:
Could you please do me a favour, and provide me with links where previous administrations flagrantly flouted court orders like this administration is doing.
Thank you.
U're d one that made a claim and I asked u to prove it. Instead u're telling me 2 give u links where previous admins flagrantly disobeyed court orders more than this one.
So now u've changed ur stance from
"it started in this admin"
to
"it didn't start with this admin but they do it flagrantly".
Is that ur stance now?

Kennydoc:
PS: I found your words offensive especially for insinuating that I possibly had Alzheimers. That was quite rude.
Cos I quite don't understand how som1 could say what u said if their memory is in tact

Kennydoc:
My statement that disobey of court orders started in this administration might have been taken overboard
Not at all. I understood exactly what u wrote and there's nothing in ur statement which implies u were using figures of speech.

Kennydoc:
but the truth is that it's worse now than in the last administration.
Very wrong. If u say otherwise, pls prove it.

Kennydoc:
But despite that, your use of words was very wrong. I respectfully answered your question by pointing out in the article where they disobeyed Court orders.
Oh come on! I didn't tell u to prove what is clearly in d article (that erring dss operatives refused to show up in court). I said u should prove how court order disobedience started with this regime. Perhaps u want to mention Dasuki or Nnamdi or Metuh or Dokpesi's trial? Just an idea though

Just a question: if some dss operatives beat up som1 after which they're charged to court and they've not shown up yet, can that be classified as 'flagrant' disobedience by PMB's regime?

Kennydoc:
If you know the gravity of Alzheimers, you won't wish or suggest it on people like this.
Obviously u're sensitive to this 'alzheimer' word. Sorry if u're hurt. I apologize.
