Exactly sir, the reason dangote is not complaining of dollars is simply because over 70% of his raw material are locally sourced he doesn't need to import heavily. I believe my Igbo brothers can do better than him if they change their strategy.

At least let him use ripe tomatoes for d manufacturing, the dark colour of his tomatoe paste makes the stew to look dull and unappetizing

Erisco food is already producing made in Nigeria tomato paste, am sure there are others we might not even be aware of...your points are valid still, but this is applicable to all Nigerians not just Igbos...

So many tomato paste importers played dead while loans & venture capital was going into setting up this plant.

We sha nor wan hear the govt is planning to kill us when we see an outright ban of tomato paste importation... cos any sane business person won't like a situation where imports will make breaking even on investments impossible...

The factory didn't come on line in 2days, only Dangote & Erisco (Ric-Giko is nice BTW) put the resources for local manufacturing in place, others prefer the easy way of import, take the profit & repeat the cycle.......

Day go soon break!!

I was about saying same. We better be careful of what we consume that comes from China, including biscuits. Chinese that put Cancerous asbestors coating on children's toys......can do anything to make tomatoes look "reder"

Dangote changed his strategies starting from the late 80s. It has taken him over 20years of diversification experience.........

i first came out with this idea but person wey get money pass me don start. feeling sad now. can i still compet??
