Hello All,

I apologise if the question I am about to ask have already been answered before but I am in dire need of information and will appreciate any help.

I'm keen on studying in the US or CA. I want to Major in any combination of Operation Research, Supply chains, Industrial Engineering and/or Risk Management (Msc).

I had my Undergraduate studies right here in Nigeria, I will like if a list of schools who grant waiver can be suggested and how to go about it.

Thanks again.

VO:which sch did u apply to?
My reply:NCAT
VO:why did u chose the sch?
My reply:being a technical institution, focuses more on sci and tech.which will add great value to my academic career also after exchanging couple of mails with the provost of research who directed me to the research team head of comp-sci,i was convinced of a good student-lecturer relationship which will give me easy adaptation to the sch learning process.I also mentioned the mild weather and climatic condition of the state.
VO:who is ur sponsor?
My reply:my dad
VO:what does he do?
My reply:he is an engineer by profession, ceo of enilolobo motors and basically deals with auto sales and has a large workshop for repair and services.
VO:how much is his salary?
My reply:i am not certainly sure of his income as that depends on the gross income and net profit after payment of tax, salaries and utility bills.
VO:could you give any likely figure he receives as salary?
My reply:like I said I can't say with all certainty but it will be btw 500-600k.
VO:did you apply into any other sch?
My reply:yes,NCCU
VO:what do u do?
My reply:I am a network administrator;NB:The 3rd time I went I was already working with mtn as an IP core network engineer as the answer.
VO:are u married?
My reply:No;NB:i was married b4 I went for the 3rd interview.i got married Aug 15th.so she didn't ask.
VO:do u know any1 in the institution?
My reply:NO
VO:Have u traveled before?
My reply:NO;NB: I went to Ghana before the 3rd interviiew.so this wasn't asked in the 3rd interview.

But while I was asked why I chose the sch in the first interview appearance ,I developed a cold feet and lost my consciousness.the second interview was great and the lady had to call the first interviewer, switched off the speaker, had a chat and denied the visa again.the 3rd time was great also but it was thesame interviewer in the 2nd appearance that did that again.i was composed, maintained eye contact and pour out freely.i was the 3rd person she attended to after refusing 2 student applicant.
Now I am considering using a joint sponsor, myself and my dad.

Fortissimo:

I'm thinking of doing a PhD in chemical biology after masters. Naija pharma industry is coming up and I'd really be excited to work with indigenous firms to develop / test new drugs. There's also this naija Govt pharma R & D institute that I'm eyeing. It looks like they're doing some real work. Do you have any plans on entering the naija pharma space?
Msybe you should try PhD in computational Biology at Rutgers University, it usually comes with full funding.

Thanks bro. Is that where you are now? What program? I've actually gotten an admit from, and decided to go to mississippi state university for masters. Will look at Rutgers when/if I decide to apply for PhD.

Sorry. Just realized that wasn't you. Can u please share every info you have about them? Specifically, application requirements.

I don't know much about them asides being somewhat generous with funding. GPA should be 2.5+, GRE should be 900+ (old scale). Overall, 200×GPA + GRE scores > or = 1400.

Safe schools:

California State University, Northridge.

Fresno State University.

Good schools:

University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Michigan Technological University.

The two good schools let you upload your documents ONLY for admission purpose. So, it's worth trying.

Good luck.

In other unrelated news, my brother's friend just got a denial. I don't have the transcript as we're not close and I can't be asking him cos na bros to me. In case you're wondering why I decided to share this useless information, it's for people who have been thinking like him. He thought being interviewed in Abuja would automatically guarantee his approval cos he was told the interviewers in Abuja are nice, friendly, God-fearing, understanding, etc. too bad. I was considering the same thing tho. I guess I'll just chill in Lagos for my interview, flight to abuja and back, hotel to stay. don't think it's worth it. Maybe the success rate is higher in Abuja, I think there's more to it than just traveling to Abuja. *drops mic*

NB: This is not an attempt to mock anyone, I just say make I contribute something ni. I still dey hear gangsta stories about Lagos embassy tho lol. Nfana ibaga.

Hi fam'..how are you all? So for those that travelled recently to the US, which food items are not allowed? and also mode of packaging.. Emirates baggage allowance is 2 bags each 23kg; is this strictly the rule or is there exceptions?
My flight is next week.
Thanks y'all...
For the Newbies:
Rule 1: Ask questions
Rule 2: Listen and read instructions here carefully.
Rule 3: Pray,Pray,Pray.
Rule 4: Repeat rules 1,2,3.
Should be writing next from obamaland.
Bye!

Hello Good People

Thanks for all the important information dropped here.
Permit me to ask:

Please why is the choice and number of schools applied to, sort of relevant to the success of a visa interview?

What is the VO trying to determine from this question of the number/choice of school?

Thanks Guys

You'd better be consistent with your infos,I will just single out my take on NCAT since it was my first school before transferring,it is a very expensive school,u can only go with it,if u have tuition waiver or u are financially capable...also be informed that it's a predominantly black school.

Again, as a US resident, look for any community college or university around you. Enroll as a non degree student. Non degree means, you will only do the courses you chose and paid for. No strings attached. After gathering your prereqs, then start applying to univeristy for the accelerated BSN. For a traditional nursing program, you don't need the prereqs.
