Dear Nairalander, my sister had a B.Sc in Zoology couple of years ago and she couldn't find a work place that befit her course of study, she went further to obtain her Masters in Parasitology hopping to increase her chance of employment alas she still cannot find a befitting workplace. Shes presently working as a casual staff in a law firm earning a peanut and shes worried about not using her certs to get a befitting job. Please i need your help on likely companies she can apply to. thanks very much for your reply in advance.

But seriously though, if any of my Children say na Zoology, Parsitology or any mumu Art Course dem wan read, they better make sure its on a full scholarship because I will not waste my money training such a Child.

start your own zoo, you can start by buying Rats and cocroaches, then Goats, with time you can raise enogh money to buy wild animals like bush rat etc. I hope this is helpful

Where Zoologist dey work if no be Zoo?

As a zoologist or a holder in any of its fields, working in some juicy company is difficult to come by. However, one can easily work with research institutes such as IITA and its likes or an agricultural ones, university teaching hospitals/government hospitals or better get your own private research laboratory. In the end its all research and findings. But my advise for you, is that you get versatile and broaden your mind to learning as much as you can especially data processing, management courses and maybe a few.

many places; in d universities as lecturers and researchers, in the hospitals as medical scientist, parasitologist; in environmental consultancies as environmental specialist; as veterinary doctors; in international organizations and NGOs as public health experts, researchers and consultants; in government ministries and parastatals; in marine and freshwater agencies like NIOMR, NIFFRI as hydrobiologist, limnologist, conservation scientist; Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF). The list is endless.

I am a zoologist, A proud product of uniben and i work in an international Organization as a supply chain specialist.
Your first degree is just to open your mind, what worked for me was that i had a strong ssce in sciences which enable me to quickly adapt to the opportunities in the market. My degree enable me to be shortlisted but my ssce enable me battle with my fellow candidates during assesment .
Having said the above, i bought books in marketing, law, quantitative techniques, accounting, finance management and did alot of self study, so at times its not just the number of degrees you have but you must also be prepared at all times because opportunity favours the prepared.
