BvS has netted in a whopping $126 million from just the US and China alone within two days (Thursday and Friday). It seems that the WB marketing truly worked overtime to sell this movie. Analysts are saying it should hit more than $400 million globally this opening weekend. |

think critics in a way kinda sold this movie. Everyone wants to see to form their base opinion and which should be so. Besides who can resist the urge to see three fav comic book characters on big screen. |

Am half way into this movie and am liking it so far except for one character. There is a decent Cam print floating over the web,if you're desperate enough it should suffice. |

Snyder uses this movie to continue to push the Supes as a Christ like entity, and it so poetic. Half of the world loves Supes for what he can do, the other half is scared of what he can do. So the senate wants to control him and others want to destroy him, sounds biblically familiar? And what did Jesus do to save everyone, even those opposed to him? He sacrificed himself. Just like Supes did and he did it on good Friday non the less.....are you catching on yet? Now the world will understand what they had and wish he was back and he can become the Supes we all love. The resurrection of Superman will be unlike anything we have seen or can imagine. Read some comics and appreciate what they have done here. |

the kind of way this movie was being panned lowered my expectations but I thought it was alright and am excited for justice league. my only beef with this movie is lex luthor the guy that portrayed him try and I even liked him in some scene like the first confrontation with super man on that Tower was very cool but aside from that this isn't Lex. Clancy brown voice acting in the animation is hard to top even spacey's time as lex wasn't good. next movie should just use Lois small small. aside from this it was very entertaining and the acting was on point. |

More overseas grosses outside China and the US, adding to about $71 million, have moved BvS overall grosses to $197 million. Just an update... |

badinfluence:Uhm... They have always been compared due to the obvious parallels between them. Wikipedia even has an article called ''Christ Figure'' in which Superman was one of the figures mentioned. |

BvS Was I entertained by the film? Yes. Did the film annoy me? Yes. Could the Batman vs Suprman fight have been avoided? Yes. I kept saying if they were played by women, they would have had the conversation during the first 5 minutes. Was Wonder Woman awesome? Yes. Was she wasted? Yes. Did I genuinely laugh during this film? Yes. Did I want to slap the World's Greatest Detective being easily played by Alexander Luthor? Yes. Did I just watch a film partially based on the Injustice: Gods Among Us game, the Justice Lords episode of the JL/JLU cartoon series & DCAOM JL: The Flaspoint Paradox? Yes. Will folks who don't know the mythos of the comics or the aforementioned media be confused by the dream sequence? Yes...unless they're used to watching sci-fi with alternative universes and/or inter-dimensional travel. This film will make tons of money - it is 12A after all, but I bet some folks will not admit that they had issues with it. I now understand why critics have issues with this & why one internet reviewer called Alexander, Lex Jr. In fact, I've taken to calling him Alexander, as you may have noticed. |

Next2Bezee:O wow.. now allow me to pretend that was the hottest comeback of all time. While I silently shake my head in disappointment... so the only point you can make about this movie is on its box office performance. Way to console yourself mate. Two posts from you and you can't say anything about the movie, storyline and all. Who took you to see the movie? Your more knowledgeable gf? ![]() You're the only one that adores lex's portrayal in the movie.. sigh.. did he tickle your fancy? Buahahahaha |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by superbloke(m): 7:35am On Mar 27, 2016 |
cao:Your review makes sense. But I disagree with lex playing Bruce. Bruce has the same fears as lex does about superman. With all the set up against supes, you really can't blame him. I do understand some of the criticisms. The part where flash appeared in the dream was unnecessary in my opinion. It didn't add anything to the plot, and I thought those who didn't know about the comic stories would be confused by it. Obviously, the movie was made for comic book fans mostly as Amy Adams said. One thing I don't also like is how they didn't explain how everyone got to know everyone else's identity. Overall, I still enjoyed the movie. The critics were obviously too harsh, like they were already waiting for it to fail. I give it an 8/10. |

badinfluence:Movie critics decides the reviews, but the real audience make the revenue. And for it to amass so much in such a short time means you and the marvel fanboys are on your own. People love the movie ![]() I've already covered the movie in detail in a reply to another marvel fanboy if you'd check the latest pages lol. So because i like Eisenberg's performance, you imply that i'm gay? Lol that sums up your maturity level then lol. So again i dunno what date you're in but you better wake up, BvS is killing it! ![]() |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Next2Bezee(m): 9:04am On Mar 27, 2016 |
parrotibaba:The 29% is only from 256 movie critics, But 73% of the 158,000 actual audience members loved the movie but that Rotten Tomatoes won't show that. So who do you believe, 181 movie critics that didn't like the movie or 115,000 movie goers that loved it? Please go see the movie, its really good. Do not let your choice be influenced by critics who didn't like the movie because it didn't copy Marvel's pg-13 style. The actual audience rating was 3.8/5 https://i.imgur.com/jcSAFCn.png |

Next2Bezee:You are not going to tell me to ignore the negative reviews of over 181 professional movie critics and accept that 73% of the audience liked the movie. These guys are movie critics for f'cks sake hence the reason some of them are allowed to watch these movies before it comes out to the public. You can't tell me to choose the audience over the critics just cos the critics didn't favor the movie. What would have happened if it was the other way round? I have already decided to see the movie, bad reviews or not, but it's shocking to see how low this movie's rating is, 29%? WTF? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 10:55am On Mar 27, 2016*. Modified: 11:13am On Mar 27, 2016 |
parrotibaba:It's called bandwagon effect, dude. It became fashionable for people to rubbish the movie after the first set of reviews. It's like everyone was waiting to write something nasty about the movie. Now, that explains the poor correlation between reviews and the audience. I am an academic reviewer myself and I have reviewed several papers and theses. I can tell when reviews are biased. The first rule in reviewing is that you must never attack the author/director but the methods. This rule was broken by many reviewers in the case of BvS. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by parrotibaba(m): 11:37am On Mar 27, 2016 |
TonySpike:It doesn't work that way, movies either get a critical acclaim, a generally positive review, a positive review, a mixed review, mixed to positive/negative, a negative review or a generally negative review as was the case of the last fantastic four movie. Movie critics do not base their reviews on another, they base their reviews upon seeing the movie. If you check, amidst all the negative reviews, there are also positive reviews. Now if there are positive reviews then the bandwagon effect is non existent because even if the movie has an overwhelming negative reviews, there is still positive reviews going around. About the comparison between the positive audience and the negative critics, you know people go to see a movie because of certain things. Me for example will see this movie because of the fight between batman and supes, maybe how they fight doomsday and I'm very sure many folks who have seen/are going to see the movie are also going/went to because of one thing or another. Some want to see how Affleck nailed it as batman, some want to see Gadot as wonder woman, some want to see psycho Lex while some want to see the relationship between Clark and Lois, etc. If you read the comments when a new trailer is released you will see that people want to see different things about the movie. Financially, this movie should make a billion dollars because of its budget and it's depending on people who are interested in seeing batman and superman on the big screen. There are movies with negative reviews which end up being financially successful, still doesn't make it a decent movie/movies. There are also movies with positive reviews but disappointing box office outings. Finally if you attack the methods of a director or an author you are indirectly attacking the director or author. If the methods of Zack Synder are under intense criticism then the man himself is also under criticism, e.g in football, if the methods of a coach isn't yielding results, the coach gets the sack because the methods are from him and no one else. You can't question the method of directing used by Snyder without questioning the man, it simply doesn't make an iota of sense. Zack synder nails it in visuals, 300, the watchmen, MoS and BvS are proof of that but it's the overall package that matters. |

It's Easter, superman ought to have risen by now. jokes aside, the JL part 1 will tell us a lot more about the plots in BVS which still isn't clear cos I see DC storyline more like a continuity rather than a movie that starts and ends. One thing we don't know: will the movie begin in the immediate aftermath ofDawn of Justice(ie. with Superman still in the ground) or will it skip forward in time to allow for his inevitable resurrection? And perhaps more interestingly, who will lead the JL cos I think Supes supposed to be the frontrunner. I just hope they don't do a Wolverine/Cyclops shit like in the Xmen movies and place the Bat as the poster boy for JL, not that I don't like him tho. BvS was good; certainly not the best but nothing as bad as it's made out to be. 8/10 and that's cos of the film's score/soundtrack was definitely one of the best I've heard. Got me on the edge most of the time in anticipation of what's next esp. during the fight scenes with doomsday. |
