That how a real fighter fights. And to think that defender is more than 30 years old with such a superb running that produced one of the saves of the century is unbelievable. Our players must borrow share this same mentality if not more, against Egypt.

forgiveness:

Does that not not suggest that we should go back to what had worked for us earlier than trying too hard to sugar coat already a failed project?

Tell us, why you think Amuzie is better than Echijiele? Prove it with technical facts. We don't need baseless and unproven opinions here. This is serious matter.

Berti Vogtz and Lars Lagerback were successes to you or failed projects. Coach Keshi worked for us. I bet it hurt you seeing a Nigerian man Coach the National team with some home based lads and win the Nations Cup.

It will be interesting if Egypt do attack us. Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa and our forwards will have a good day. That is what we need!

To me, Amuzie played well, and he shouldn't be entirely blamed for the Goal conceded! Everyone on the pitch should be blamed rather!

I see Tonight as a critical Night in the history of Nigeria football.
The cloud is gathering.

Some thing may just happen tonight.

TONIGHT MIGHT JUST MARK THE END OF AN ERA WHICH WILL PAVE WAY FOR A NEW ERA-some call it "THE GOLDEN GENERATION".

We lose tonight and that is it. We may just see the last of so many senior members of the team. I dnt want to mention names. We know most of them.

We win tonight and the birth of that New Era is postponed to a later "dooms" day. Yes dooms Day. That dooms day will surely come.

So patriots as we watch tonight's game know that as it is do or die for the Super Eagles players whose national Team future lie on the outcome of that game, it is not do or die for us supporters. The 2018 WC qualifiers are after the Olympics so we build the New Super Eagles from the Olympics of which seven playerd already featured in that first leg against Egypt.

I see tonight as a win-win for us.

So Patriots , I know tensions are high but remember it would be a win-win situation for us.

NIGERIAN FOOTBALL IS PREGNANT. SHE MAY FALL INTO LABOUR TONIGHT AND GIVE BIRTH TO THE NEW ERA. SHE MAY FALL INTO THAT SAME LABOUR IN ANOTHER NOT TOO DISTANT TIME.

I have chosen to watch tonight's game under no form of panic or tension cos as I said:
IT IS WIN-WIN FOR US.

I want this win because I feel the success of our Super Golden Generation lies in indigenous coaches. The foreign coaches we have had recently just want a list to send to the field.

Berti Vogtz hardly stayed in Nigeria to scout local talents.

Coach Siasia winning makes a big statement for the local coaches and I wish him and Coach Emmanuel Amunike the best.

No need for emotional decisions. Lets win the match first and then go from there. A foriegn coach can also be an African, we just need someone with a vision and the ability to transfer it into the players. If at the end Siasia is the man for the job so be it but let's give due process a chance.

SUPER EAGLES PLAYERS REACT TO CHAD WITHDRAWL FROM AFCON 2017 RACE

Players of the Super Eagles have reacted to the withdrawal of Group G rivals Chad from the AFCON 2017 qualifiers which leaves them with just two points.

The players gave their reactions to owngoalnigeria.com earlier today unanimously agreeing to the fact that they are left with no margin for error in the game against Egypt.

Efe Ambrose: “It still doesn’t change anything as we were two points behind Egypt before Chad pulled out same as now it only make the game against Egypt a must win which by the grace of God is possible”

Moses Simon: “We have to beat Egypt in Alexandria, there’s no way around it by the special grace of God and with the quality we have we will do just that in Alexandria”.

Ifeanyi Matthew: “Honestly the news came to me as a shock but I believe there’s very little we can do about it all we have to do is turn up and beat Egypt in Alexandria, it’s a task we can accomplish’

Shehu Abdullahi: “Insha Allah we will get the result we need in Egypt with all due respect to them Chad pulling out has left us with no choice than to win them in Egypt which is achievable”

Etim Matthew: “Victory in Egypt is now a must, we can’t afford to take chances, we have the coaches who can make it work and the players who can also execute the task, we pray for God guidance in Alexandria on Tuesday”

AKPEYI READY TO DEPUTISE FOR IKEME

Chippa United net minder Daniel Akpeyi says he is ready to fill in for goalkepper Carl Ikeme who is suspended for Tuesday all important AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Egypt.

Akpeyi will battle Nigeria CHAN 2016 safe hands Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the number one spot in Ikeme’s absence when the Super Eagles take on Egypt in Alexandria.

“Have been around the team for a while so am not new to the set-up neither am I jittery about the task of filling in for Ikeme” He told owngoalnigeria.com.

“Though it’s a sad thing to be without Ikeme in a game of this magnitude but that’s why the coach called up three goalkeppers and whoever get the nod to start in Egypt will definitely not let Nigerians down” He concluded.

EXCLUSIVE..EGYPT FA: THE CROWD INTIMIDATED OUR PLAYERS AND THE REFEREE

A member of the Egyptian FA has blamed the mammoth crowd for the inability of their players to play to their potential and questionable calls made by the referees during Egypt’s 1-1 draw with Nigeria.

The AFCON 2017 qualifiers game saw over 50,000 people crammed into the 25,000 Ahmadu Bello Stadium and that according to a member of the Football association in Egypt unsettled both the referee and their players.

“Our players played with fear, the crowd was intimidating to say the least, when we came out for warm up our players were busy looking at those on the floodlight and scoreboard, it was scary” He told owngoalnigeria.com.

“In the dressing room we had players asking us if the security can protect them if they win as the crowd was way too much even the referee was moved by it, he was heavily intimidated and it was all because of the crowd.

“He made so many questionable calls that went against us but we on our part understand that only a mad man won’t favour a team with such amount of supporters”.

IHEANACHO RATED MAN CITY BEST ALTERNATIVE TO AGUERO AHEAD OF BONY

This time last year striker Kelechi Iheanacho had only just begun representing Manchester City’s youth teams. Right now, the 19-year-old is arguably Manuel Pellegrini’s most effective impact player.

He is seemingly a lucky charm. In the 414 minutes of BPL action the Nigerian has experienced so far (three starts, 17 substitute appearances) he has only twice seen City’s scoreline go downhill while he has been on the pitch. On both occasions his side were already trailing to Liverpool when he entered the fray.

Alternatively, in six different matches, Man City have seen an up lift in terms of the score during the period Iheanacho has been involved; and he netted crucial winning goals against Crystal Palace and Swansea City.

The youngster’s sprightliness has undoubtedly been a contributing factor.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s first BPL goal was a late winner at Crystal Palace

Although it is easier to sustain an energetic approach when coming off the bench, his sharp movement has the tendency to make something happen. When you compare the number of explosive runs he makes to fellow understudy Wilfried Bony, the difference is clear.

Iheanacho

Scoring six times in cup competitions, as well as netting three BPL goals, Iheanacho is also calm in front of goal.

One criticism would be that he does not put himself into goalscoring positions enough. He has only taken on seven shots – but there can be no doubting that he is a natural finisher. Statistically at least, the teenager is by some distance Man City’s most lethal shot-taker.

BREAKING: EGYPT EMBASSY DENIES NIGERIA SUPPORTERS CLUB VISA

The Nigeria Football Supporters Club won’t be in Alexandria to cheer the Nigeria national team when they take on the Egyptian team in an AFCON 2017 qualifiers group G game.

Super Eagles need an outright victory against Egypt in Alexandria to qualify for next year AFCON but they might have to do that without the presence of their passionate singing fans.

President of Nigeria Football Supporters Club Dr. Rafiu Ladipo told owngoalnigeria.com on phone that the move is a deliberate attempt by the embassy to frustrate the Eagles.

“This is a delberate ploy to frustrate us and stop us from supporting our team, it’s not good for the spirit of fair play but with or without us they will fall in Alexandria by the grace of God” He told Owngoalnigeria.com

However the president general insist they will mobilise their members in Egypt as well as Nigerians residing in the country to be at stadium and cheer the team.

EXCLUSIVE: SIASIA SET TO AXE IHEANACHO, SIMON AND AMUZIE FROM STARTING LINE UP

According to leaks gathered by owngoalnigeria.com interim manager of the Super Eagles Samson Siasia is planning on dropping the trio of Moses Simon,Stanley Amuzie and Kelechi Iheanacho from his starting line up against Egypt in tomorrow’s must win AFCON 2017 qualifiers.

While a decision have been reached on dropping Kelechi Iheanacho following his poor peformance against Egypt, the duo of Moses Simon and Stanley Amuzie will mostly likely not be in the starting line up on the ground of experience.

We gathered the coach is going for experience as he expects the atmosphere to be fully charged at the Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria which might be too much for the young players to take.

Nigeria know only a victory in Alexandria can guarantee them a spot in next year AFCON and as such are not taking anything for granted regarding the game.

The team will arrive Egypt this afternoon and have their first session on the pitch later in the evening.

EXCLUSIVE: MIKEL AND IGHALO MAKE OFFER TO TREAT DISABLE SUPER EAGLES FAN

According to Abubakar Haruna Gurugu a disable fan of the Super Eagles Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel and Watford star Odion Ighalo have both promise to foot his bill for him to have treatments.

“Abu Gurugu” as he is fondly called was struck by Polio at a very young age and despite not being able to use his legs still date he still didn’t lost his love for the Nigeria senior national team.

Video footage of Mikel and the teen disable fan chatting on the stadium track went after Nigeria’s game against Egypt went viral on social media and the excited disabled who crawled his way into the heart of the players of the Super Eagles appears to have gotten a solution to cure his disability.

Against all odds he crawled his way into the over 40,000 crowd at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium not minding if he gets trampled upon and watched the entire game on Friday.

The 11 year old told owngoalnigeria.com in a chat that Mikel and Odion Ighalo have made contact with his guardian regarding his treatment.

“I spoke with Mikel for three days before the game he promised me they will beat Egypt so after the game I went to ask him what went wrong and he explained to me, I felt like crying” He told owngoalnigeria.com.

“Mikel is so humble and nice he speaks Hausa fluently and him and Ighalo have made contact with my family to see how they can help me get better treatment please help me pray for Allah to continue to bless and guard them” He concluded.

5 REASONS WHY EAGLES WILL BEAT EGYPT IN ALEXANDRIA

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Egypt in an all important AFCON 2017 qualifiers in Alexandria Egypt, owngoalnigeria.com take a good at some reasons why the Super Eagles will triumph

1. PACY FORWARDs

The Pharaohs of Egypt neutralised the pacy of the Eagles attack by defending very deep in their half in the reverse tie played in Kaduna but in Alexandria they are expected to push up a bit which might potentially open up space for Ahmed Musa,Victor Moses,Moses Simon and even Odion Ighalo to run behind and do the damage.

2. OVERLAPPING FULL BACKS

In Kaduna the Egyptians played very narrow which made it almost impossible for the Super Eagles to utilise their full backs who all have potential to join attack and wreck havoc.

Amuzie made a whole lot of runs but was mostly forced inwards as the Egyptians defended their flanks by doubling up in defence but in Alexandria in front of their fans they will definitely take the game to Nigeria which will lead to an open play which might suit the Nigeria full backs.

3. STRONG BENCH

Not many people were aware that Aaron Samuel and red hot MLS goal kingpin Fanendo Adi didn’t make the match day squad yet Nigeria had a bench that has the likes of Aminu Umar,Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses.

The battle for shirts will definitely make whoever get to play want to justify his selection like Amuzia and Oghenekaro Etebo did in Kaduna which could spur them to victory in Alexandria.

4. INDIVIDUAL BRILLIANCE

With all due respect to the Egyptian team the individual abilities of the Nigeria side dwarfs theirs bar a few as they rely more on team play.

However games like this are sometimes decided by little margins from players with abilities to conjure something out of nothing either with smart dribbles, set pieces and even a pass that can open up space for the forwards to exploits.

5. EGYPT ARE UNDER PRESSURE

After missing the last three editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament which they have won more than any other Africa nation they have never come this close to qualifying in a while.

The pressure of breaking the jinx of missing out on three consecutive AFCON tournament might work in the favour of the Super Eagles

NSC DIRECTOR: PINNICK SHOULD RESIGN IF NIGERIA FAIL TO QUALIFY FOR AFCON 2017

Deputy director institutional sport at the ministry of youth and sports Dr. Ademola Are says president of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick should resign if Nigeria fail to qualify for next year Africa Cup Of Nations.

“It’s a no brainer, let’s be honest with ourselves if we fail to qualify it will be two straight failures under him, he has to go” Are told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“We have lost our structure and system under Pinnick, too many interference with the job of the coaches, can you imagine a national team like Nigeria having three coaches in a space of one year?.

“All coaches are battling to get results not that we don’t have players because we watch them on daily basis performing for their team it’s because we lack the structure to make them thrive, it’s time we long beyond the coaches and focus on the system that produces them.

“And if we looking at the system we have to start from the top I don’t expect Pinnick to wait till he is impeached, he should humbly resign as it will be one failure too many under him”.

MIKEL: SUPER EAGLES CHIEF MOTIVATOR AHEAD EGYPT CLASH

As Nigeria gear up to take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in today must win Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers captain of the team John Obi Mikel has been rallying the players to go all out and get the job done.

27 year old Mikel has featured in so many games of this nature where his team needed to win to progress and he is using his wealth of experience for club and country to inspire his teammates.

Last night the Chelsea man had a meeting with the players where he reminded them of their responsibility not to win for the sake of their careers but for millions of Nigeria who view them as their last source of joy.

“Mikel is a wonderful personel to have in the team, the boys will tell you better he is more than a captain he has succeeded in lifting the morales of the players which was deflated after the draw with Egypt” a team source told owngoalnigeria.com.

“For the first time we don’t have disagreement in camp thanks to Mikel who stopped the idea of cliques among the players by ensuring everybody comes out at same time for team event.

“Aside that the concept of senior players has been squashed by Mikel all player are equal and the respect and orderliness we have in camp now is mutual not forced as in the past”.

EXCLUSIVE: EGYPT DISTRIBUTE FIRE CRACKERS TO FANS FOR EAGLES GAME

As part of their plans to intimidate the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the Borg El-Arab Stadium, Egypt are giving out firecrackers to fans who buy ticket for the game.

Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent who is in Egypt reports the firecrackers are giving out to fans under the guise of it will be used to celebrate if they beat Nigeria and qualify for the AFCON for the first time in six years.

Firecrackers are a common feature in Egyptian football but was outlawed by the country’s government after so many stadium incidents but the practice is still going on in patches.

Our correspondent also reveal that despite plans to put in place tight security measures for the game, the Egyptians are hell bent on intimidating the Eagles further after claiming they were intimidated in Kaduna during the reverse tie.

As part of their strategy the interior ministry of Egypt has expressly giving approval to 40,000 fans to be at the Stadium as oppose to the earlier approved 30,000 to match the atmosphere witnessed at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium five days ago in Kaduna,Nigeria.

The Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has made three changes to the side that tackled Egypt in Kaduna on Friday evening for today’s reverse fixture in Alexandria.

A review of the lineup published by the Nigerian Federation revealed that the former Nantes striker will still play with the same tactics he used in Kaduna.

Chippa United netminder Daniel Akpeyi will be in between the pipes while the same back four that featured at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium keep their starting shirts.

But there is a change in the midfield, with Umar Aminu getting the nod of Siasia ahead of Manchester City young star Kelechi Iheanacho, while Mikel Obi and Oghenekaro Etebo retained their places.

CSKA Moscow frontman Ahmed Musa, Chelsea loanee Victor Moses and Watford marksman Odion Ighalo are saddled with the responsibility of providing the goals for the Super Eagles.

Nigeria Starting XI : Akpeyi, Shehu, Amuzie, Ambrose, Oboabona, Mikel Obi, Etebo, Aminu, Musa, V. Moses, Ighalo

Substitutes : Echiejile, Iheanacho, Azubuike, Simon, Ezenwa, Onazi, Iwobi

Egypt Defender Sabry Rahil Passes Fitness Test; Available For Selection Vs Nigeria

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Al Ahly left back Sabry Rahil has passed a fitness test and will be available for selection on Tuesday night against the Super Eagles.

The defender could not complete Monday’s workout and national team medics later revealed that he was suffering from a sinus infection.

Sabry Rahil was not in action on Friday when the seven-time African champs played out a 1-1 draw with Nigeria in Kaduna, with Hamada Tolba occupying the left-back position.

The Zamalek stopper made a goal line clearance which prevented Chelsea loanee Victor Moses from hitting target in the first leg.
