The Pound, I mean the GBP could have been okay for us if we are not trickster.

Most annoying is that the Oyibo who helped us during the civil war to remain one, immediately after the war, we kicked their ASSSS and changed from Pound to Naira.

Hmm

I just dey think of the curse wey I go lay on Buhari.

*still thinking*

Considering the fact that it is not his fault...it is the fault of the low oil price...which means that we do not have the foreign exchange to buffer the naira.

Hence the CBN governor is hoarding dollars so as to prevent the naira from depreciating too fast. (Soludo did the same thing in 2007/8.).

So, unless you have an idea to increase oil prices...which we do not control......you cannot curse PMB for it.

While I blame GEJ for not saving....and for reducing our savings from 60bn to 32 bn....the fact is...if he had saved...it would have just delayed the inevitable.

We are in this mess because Nigerians like you want free money. You do not want to be a manufacturing power like South Korea,Japan or China. You want an economy where there is a big naitonal cake for you to share....and where if you think you are not getting enough....you would promptly shout Biafra, Sharia, Jihad, National Conference,Marginalisation, Bad people, etc.

In my opinion, it is a good thing times are hard.Maybe we will end our addiction to sharing a non-existent cake.....and actually do some thinking and working.

We were not using the British Pound from 1960-1973.

We were using a certain currency called the Nigerian Pound....which was not the same as the British pound....but is a currency in its own right.(Currencies called the Pound, but are not the same as the British Pound include the Irish Pound, and the Egyptian Pound).

To distinguish the British Pound from other currencies named Pound.....the British POUND is referred to as Pounds Sterling...or Sterling.

(Another eg....Australian dollar, Hong Kong Dollar and Zimbabwean dollar are all currencies in their own right....they are not the same as the US dollar or the greenback Likewise the CFA franc used across Africa is not the same as the old French franc.).

Didn't he know all these before He promised to make $1-#1?

Didn't he know all these before He promised to make $1-#1?

He actually did not make that promise.

He did promise to make the naira on par with the dollar....but he did not say he would INSTANTLY DO IT.

Which are two different things (I know you would chant excuses....so let me explain).

When PMB took over....he did state that he would diversify the economy (So far it is talk...and that leaves me dissapointed somewhat....but you cannot diversify the economy in 10 months....it is a process).

So far...he is talking agric (which does not please me....I prefer industries).

He has also targetted 10000MW by 2019.

All these = increased local manufacturing= less dollar exodus out of Nigeria= Nigerian currency getting stronger again.

(That's his idea).

As for me....

1.I would sack excess civil servants and raise fuel prices, and end educaiton subsides.

2.I would increase taxes and agressively colelct taxes

3.Ban imports of things we can make.

4.Restrict forex to just education, and fuel import.Meanwhile build three refineries.

5.Increase generation to 20000 over 10 years.

6.Promote industries agressively.Forget oil and agric.

So you see....PMB is not aggresive enough for me.
