Integrityfarms:There has always been pipeline vandalism; it badly affected power generation in the past, it is still affecting power generation today and it will always affect power generation as long as we continue to have savages who sabotage pipelines just for the fun of it. I don't also trust the pipeline operators in their repair works on these damaged pipelines. At this point, I think the best solution would be to move away from our over-reliance on gas powered turbines. Coal plants should be built, wind farms should built, solar farms should be built and hydro dams (e.g. Mambilla) should be built quickly. |

persius555:Has it occured to you that it may be those tasked, engaged with the job or repairing these pipelines that may be sabotaging them for gain. That the recent incident involving the death of those workers may not be all that it seems. Just thinking aloud. I don't just trust the NNPC/NGC on this matter. That's why I am a strong advocate for private sector control. Strategic assets should be controlled by those who will 'weep' to lose them, not people who will tell you 20 billion dollars is missing from their accounts with a smile. This country. |

Integrityfarms:You do not mark the exam scripts of a student when the exam is still ongoing; it is meaningless. Fashola and Buhari have spent less than a year in power and a full tenure lasts 4 years; a reminder just in case you are oblivious of that. Presently, Fashola and Buhari are working to fix the problems which couldn't be fixed by your heroes for decades and there is no way you can define where you are going to without appreciating/talking about where you've been. Once again it is senseless to expect such a rot which couldn't be fixed in 16 years to be fixed in 10 months. |

Reference:Yeah, even if coal is stolen, it would be in the proportion that could lead to a shutdown of coal plants. Also, unlike gas plants which go off pretty soon after a damage to the pipelines, coal stock could be stored up to last up to a week or more within the plants. |

So you expect a government that have not used up to a year to solve all these issue we've been having. You must be a joker. If previous government have done their own bit we wouldn't be having so much problem to solve on our hands today. I beleive this is just a phase that will definately pass.We just need to have a lot of patience. What i want people to know is that the alternatives we had during the last election was not much,we just have to get PDP out of the way OR do you think PDP we have done better in less than of APC rule?I don't think so. All the monies been recovered by this government would have definitely been swept under the carpet. Our watch word now should be patience. AceRoyal: |

Reference:You might be right in your deductions. Nigeria is a country where the unimaginable happens. I think the govt should reduce emphasis on gas powered electricity. Our operating environment is too destructive and prone to all sorts of compromise. The niger delta is still very volatile to be over relied on. Its high time we partially shift future power investments away from gas to other means. But then i still insist that laws be passed to severely punish vandals. We just cannot continue like this. |

mickyeddi:Let me bring this down to your dumb level of Understanding. That you are a Born again christian or a Clergy and you believe that Alcoholic consumption is a SIN does not mean that you don't eat food that has Alcoholic contents. (Alcohol (ethanol, ethyl alcohol) is usually made from starch, sugar and other carbohydrates by fermentation with yeast; also, synthetically from acetylene). Every Day we eat these foods but that does not mean the person that consumes food with Alcohol is an Alcoholic. That Buhari is a Dullardi does not mean. Am as Daft as he is.. . I cast every spirit of Zombiness and Dullarism out of your Cerebrum |
