I am impressed, I did not know Moses had such a great leap. Nice post. Unfortunately, Moses is not a striker, so he posed no threat to the Egyptian defenders. But, I must say, he has a great leap and gets to a great height for a smallish man

Is Thomas Muller a striker? Must you be a Striker before you pose a threat?

What is Victor Moses? Winger or attacker and that's all.

Thomas Müller (German pronunciation: [ˈtʰoː.mas ˈmʏ.lɐ]; born 13 September 1989) is a German professional footballer who plays for Bayern Munich and the Germany national team. Müller plays as a midfielder or forward, and has been deployed in a variety of attacking roles – as an attacking midfielder, second striker, centre forward and on either wing. He has been praised for his positioning, teamwork and stamina, work-rate, and has shown consistency in scoring and creating goals

Moses can also play anywhere up front. The point is Siasia messed up big time with his selection. grin

In the match against Egypt, We had Iheanacho and Ighalo upfront. After the changes, we had Ighalo and Aminu.

In the second leg, Ighalo and Aminu. Victor Moses was not an attacker in the game. So he was no threat to the central defenders of Egypt.

Victor Moses was not the target of the longest balls and he would have been a crosser if we were using wing crossing, not the target.

You just saw an article showing that Muller played as a striker in games for Guardiola and your writing wiki story. Does the wiki story change the fact that Muller plays as a striker in games for Bayern?

Now show me a link saying Moses played a lead striking role in the EPL.

Are you saying Coach Siasia should have considered Moses for the striking role ahead of Ighalo, Aminu, Iheanacho etc?

As you can see, selection was the problem.

As I said before, there was not enough time to do a complete selection. Due to the short time coaches have with players, it takes a long time to build a team and select all players.

For instance, Coach Oliseh never called Oshaniwa. There was no time to figure out why. Coach Siasia selected Echiejile who Coach Oliseh selected and Amuzie who Coach Siasia has worked with in the U23.

It is a pity Coach Siasia had only three days to work. So hammering on selection would not have increased the time. Did you see me hammer repeatedly about the exclusion of Juwon? I know there was no time and when he played Amuzie, I knew he was playing a left back he was familiar with.

Due to the limited time and the talent on ground, your proposed crossing pattern will not work. Especially against a well organized Egyptian defence.

You are proposing a system for a team that was not in Alexandria to represent us.

Kehinde Fatai fires Sparta Prague to Czech Cup semis

The Nigerian scored his eight goal of the season as he inspired the Spartans to the last four of the tournament against Jindřich Trpišovský's side.

Kehinde Fatai was awe-inspiring as he helped Sparta Prague defeat FC Slovan Liberec 2-0 in the Czech Cup’s quarter final on Wednesday evening.

His 80th minute strike sealed the win for Zdeněk Ščasný’s men after Petr Jiracek’s had put the Spartans ahead at the Generali Arena, Prague.

Sparta Prague went ahead in the 27th minute after Jiracek’s converted a pass from Tiemoko Konate .

With 15 minutes left to play, Fatai missed a chance to double his
side’s lead after failing to convert a clever pass from Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Konate.

Five minutes later, he made amends for initial miss with a spectacular goal that beat Liberec’s goalkeeper Václav Hladký.

With this victory, the Spartans qualify 3-2 on aggregate and would stand a chance to attempt their seventh Czech Cup title.
26-year-old Fatai who represent Nigeria at the junior level has been in fine form for his side this season, and he would be hoping to help the Spartans get past Villarreal in the Europa Cup quarter final.

Moreover, i saw him played in that position for Liverpool and Wigan

Is it because they wrote Stoke City striker. We know the strikers of Stoke over the years. Crouch, Walters, Osaze, Biram Diouf.

All these guys will get a nod upfront before Moses.

So it is a guy you saw once when he was in Wigan, you want Coach Siasia to play upfront and lob balls to. You would have preferred Coach Siasia building the team with limited accurate crossers to feed V. Moses against those Egyptian defenders.

I did not approve Coach Siasia's approach to the game but I knew what he was up against. He doubled up on the attack with Aminu and Ighalo, hoping to out muscle the defence of Egypt.

Coach Siasia also hoped he could penetrate with the pace of Musa, Moses and Aminu.

Unfortunately, Hector Cuper prepared his side for our direct play.

I can not heap blames on Coach Siasia because of the short time to prepare. A creative approach would have been better but we should give the man a break. He got us playing good Football. Something we are not used to seeing.

Watch Bayern Munich matches and you will realise he seldomly plays as a striker.

Victor Moses is known as a forward. Is Neymar a striker, is Ronaldo a striker, we can go on and on...... But the truth is Siasia had no option b hence the bad selection prior to the AFCON qualifiers matches.

A winger or forward can score from anywhere.

Read slowly.

Over the past season, under Pep Guardiola, Müller has often played as the lone striker

In the game Brazil played Uruguay recently, Neymar played as a lone striker.

I have not seen Victor Moses play as a lone striker. So how do you expect Coach Siasia to do such in a crucial game.

Our fullbacks were poor. They can hardly dribble nor cross the ball. And our build-up is usually too slow and our centre backs can't pass the ball one time, they rather hesitate, slow down and then play it sky high. And if we are still playing ighalo upfront and want him to score, never load high balls. he his poor in aerial duels. i believe we will be better off with this selection in our next match:
1.CARL IKEME
2.DANIEL AKPEYI
3.EMMANUEL DANIEL
4.GODFREY OBOABONA
5.KENNETH OMERUO
6.CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM
7.ELDERSON ECHIEJILE
8.STANLEY AMUZIE
9.ISAAC SUCCESS
10.LEON BALOGUN
11.WILFRED NDIDI
12.OGENYI ONAZI
13.MIKEL OBI
14.AZUBUIKE OKECHUKWU
15.OGHENEKARO ETEBOR
16.ALEX IWOBI
17.KELECHI IHEANACHO
18.VICTOR MOSES
19.MOSES SIMON
20.AHMED MUSA
21.ODION IGHALO
I remove efe ambrose for his inconsistencies or momentary loss of concentration. in our 1st leg, he puts salah on-side for the goal and in the 2nd leg he blocked the keeper's view and deflected the shot in our net.

Pinnick is confused. He does not understand the working of the Super Eagles. It is long since we hired a foreign technical Adviser to handle the qualifiers. It is too expensive.

He should have resigned after his African Guardiola messed him up.

If Amaju Pinnick can source for the funds, they should allow him do what he wants.

I will even recommend attacking and skillful Coach that will suit our new golden generation. Leonardo who brought Kaka and Pato to Italy. He discovered Coutinho for Inter Milan.

As technical direct of PSG, he built one of the best teams in Football today. He brought the likes of Verrati, Pastore, Lucas Moura, Cavanni, Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic to PSG.

His philosophy is similar to Telê Santana, the Brazilian Coach who raised one of the best Brazilian teams but unfortunately, Telê never won the World Cup.

Leonardo is without a job after his alteration with a referee after a PSG game. He has coached AC Milan and Inter Milan. He loves creative players and he wore the ten shirt of Brazil. As for me, Brazil's most skillful player in France '98.

Wish Pinnick Goodluck.

Yes I knw leonardo during his days as a footballer and as a coach at inter milan. Infact, I'll recommend him as a coach for the SE as his style of game fit Naija style of play but the Nff won't contact this type of manager, Na to dey contact one yeye oyinbo coach sad

Taye Taïwo hits out at Marseille president

Former Marseille defender Taye Taiwo

by Stephane DeSaintsalvy

Former Nigeria international left-back Taye Taïwo has slammed Olympique Marseille president Vincent Labrune for his poor management of the club.

“I am struggling to understand how he makes a call when he signs a player. After two good games, he brings them to Marseille for €17 million. It is not possible,” he told So Foot.

“You simply cannot let Dimitri Payet go. The same applies to André Ayew, Mathieu Valbuena or André-Pierre Gignac. It doesn’t make any sense,” added Taïwo, who won the French Ligue 1 during his six-year spell at Marseille.

“There are too many youngsters in this team. There is no safety at the back. Against Rennes, it is unbelievable. They conceded three goals in five minutes. Marseille need leaders at the back. Steve Mandanda cannot do everything.

“OM don’t play as a team. They all move upfront. On the left they move upfront, on the right they move upfront, it doesn’t work like that.”

Olympique Marseille are lying 12thin the Ligue 1 table, only six points above the danger zone.

Amokachi's Finnish club spanked 8-0 in cup tie

Amokachi with his players in Finland

Coach Daniel Amokachi-led JS Hercules were thrashed by Finnish top-flight club and Europa League qualifiers RoPS 8-0 in a fifth round cup tie.

However, Amokachi said it was not a bad outing for his third-tier league team as they came up against a top team.

"After all, it was a good game for us. We played really well against a really good team. When playing Veikkausliiga runners-up and the Finnish representatives in Europe, the game's strength and speed will show that we are just at different levels," Hercules coach Daniel Amokachi conceded.

However, former Everton star Amokachi still saw the positives from the trouncing.

"When we play like this against good teams, we can know how much we should improve our performance,” he said.

“RoPS did everything right. They kept the ball when the ball had to be held and pressured us they needed to.

“I think this tells us that we played against a top team."
Nigerian player John Williams Oluremi scored the sixth goal for RoPS.

Oya... You know what you must do. Go get your starting shirt back from Boyata or his partner.

Rise up and show why you're an AFCON winner for goodness' sake.

We need all the experienced legs (added to the Rising young super stars) we can get that will make our Russia 2018 Qualifying journey a success.

You've not been up to par of late but you did it in 2013. You were named in the team of the tournament!!!!!!! Haba!!!! Even Oboabona didn't make such list.
