It depends on which one you are comfortable with. As for me, I prefer IELTS General. Which occupation are you nominating? You also need at least 1yr work experience with your 5yrs degree before you can be assessed positively by Vetassess.
Thank you sir; God bless you positively. Also which is easier? 190 or 189 after the 60 points have been obtained. I'm kinda confused about the state nomination part, dunno how to go about it. Thanks for your response

If your occupation is on SOL list, you don't need state sponsorship.

No...

www.skillselect.gov.au will give you detailed explanation on how points are calculated.
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 10:56am On Apr 01, 2016
lemme try to help out here. if ur occupation is only on CSOL u must go for 190 if its on both SOL n CSOL then if u have 60 points u should go for 189 no need to go for 190. if u have 55 points then u go for 190,apply to a state to nominate u, when u meet their criteria and they nominate u...u then get 5 points n that makes up 60 for u. I hope this helps.

honestly I can't explain how happy I am with this timely response, God will honour you ppl giving guidance here. Last question is , with 55 points and my occupation being on the sol list, can I apply for state nomination to make it 60?

Thanks for the Attention sire, but please I don't understand this pr direct. Does it mean I require some things before I can apply for visa, thanks in advance
PR direct- getting the PR without going through the study route. ie getting a PR directly with your current Nigerian qualifications.
If you want to do masters first, you can only get maximum of 10 points extra(if the school is in a regional area) or 5 points extra( for the 2 years study alone in a non regional area) And by then your age would have reached above 25, putting you in a good position in terms of points. But if you choose not to go through the study path, i have already outlined all the points you are currently eligible for and how to still hit the 60 points mark. Go back to my previous post and check what i outlined.

Sincerely, this is a good relief for prospective applicants. Personally, I think it has to do with the University in question. Some Universities in Nigeria are treated differently from others in Australia. I have seen Economics from Ekpoma given an asscoate degree whereas Economics from UI given Bachelor degree. So, I won't be surprise if someone else gets negative outcome with only first degree.

I would advise u go for msc directly here in Grffith,it will save you cost of doing both pgd and msc at curtin..Also you will get a two years post study visa after your 2yrs msc program.

My assessing Authority is Engineers Australia ( Electrical Engineering ). So, normally they require General Test ( IELTS ), right ?

Hi 40man,

I used CA for my assessment and I used PTE academic, they dont accept general. just make sure your wife has 65 across all bands.your wife will also need to submit ICAN syllabus,ICAN transcript, ICAN Certificate alongside her accounting degree certificate or the degree certificate she's presenting for assessment. She should also get a letter of good standing from ICAN. Using bsc degree alone will be assessed as an associate degree rather than being equivalent to Australian bsc.

Regards

Thanks for the information. God bless!
